Beta 1m: Not sure what I did but in my overzealous knob twisting and a hammered power chord I threw one of the oscillators into feedback mode and had to delete it to get it to stop? Never had that happen before with Eve.
The good news:New beautiful sounds. All my knob twisting gave pleasant variations, all very usable with no harshness or grit. Crisp keys and lush pads, very much in keeping with my vision of Eve.
Very nice work.
Thanks

Yes, I do, it adds an interesting option to the filters. I *would like to see a control for Mu amount or something just to be able to shape the effect a little.liqih wrote:yes!, so you like those 3 in EVE?
Now, When I use your 'compare' patch, I here the random filter working properly. But, when I use an init patch and try to build my own sound, the random filter doesn't work...

thanks MRT and pw,
the feedabck noise could be an esagerate modulation to the filter,
pw, do you use the LFO Amp control to set rate and depth of the chaos modulation?,
(and it's NOT random! <grin>)

yes, of course, not random.......liqih wrote:thanks MRT and pw,

But now I see, the LFO amp control is now for the Mu.

smoothed filter controls
better insert control for Phaser and Filter FXs
Fractal Modulation and Amp LFO share the same sliders for rate and send (amount)

Is there a screenshot anywhere for the beta ? If there's no multi-stage envelope then I'll gracefully exit here. Such envelopes - now on Zebra, Octopus, Dimension, Blue etc etc, are the way forward imho. If this update is just a metter of a filter and some effects, with Eve-1 thrown in(which I already have) then it's more "tweak" than a real upgrade...

Very good indeed ! The square wave demo is * exactly* what I was hoping such a function might achieve. You *must* be inspired now Liqih !

and I agreed, thinking also the he was not the only one to see EVE for the "simple" concept,-multistages don't really fit EVEs concept to me. And they are no fun to program, thats why I sold Rhino. Maybe a vector triangle or something would be ok. But I have Zero Vector and rarely use the vector...
we have the code ready for multistage envelope a la FM7, but is EVE the synth which needs that?

ok, I also posted some comments on the GUI thread, particularly about the soundset browser, and a preset browser.
about the new additions:
The new flutter on the delay is much better than the old one.
The new chorus does sound different to the previous, but I only tried it on a few things, and I ran into another problem when comparing it to the old chorus- using the same patch, the overall output between the old EVE and the beta is different.
problems-
1- I am sometimes getting some crackling sounds, like the output is overloading, but the level meters are not in the red, and the output levels in tracktion and eXT meters are in a safe range.
2- The filters knob movements are now smoothed, but some of the modulation knobs still need smoothing, like the chorus and flanger.
Is it time for useability requests? How about an option to link the left and right delays?
Also, on preset import- I have a bunch of fxp's created with EVE 1.8, which I will be updating for V2. One preset I imported was loaded in the new beta with the FM on, not off. Liqih, I can send you the preset if you want.

another feature request, because I like to compulsively categorize sounds- ability to read WusikSND files from *within* the EVE Data folder, so the sounds I only use in EVE (there are quite a few) I can just move them to the EVE folder.
