Ok, here it is. If you have a regular account with PayPal, just go to:

My Account > Withdraw > "Shop online with a PayPal virtual card" (5th choice in the list)

They'll ask to add address of the website of the store you're going to buy from, and once submitted a new web browser window will open at the bottom of your screen with all the info concerning your new virtual credit card: cc#, name it is issued to, expiration date, etc...

Very useful IMO. I just regret that they don't "destroy" the card after every purchase, it would be even safer if we could get a new card number each time we need.

Sorry for the off-topic, but it may be useful to some.

OMG, as a newly-married, budgeted man, I did not need to find this out. :|

Ooops... sorry. I forgot to say, it doesn't work if you're a newly-married man, PayPal will refuse it. So, don't even try it bduffy.

OK, I checked it out and I don't see anything like that, I only have two choices:

I guess maybe Canadians can't?

I would seriously consider the all in one AAMS option if the comp and limiter were available now but only in addition to HarBal. I really like working with the eq in HarBal much more than AAMS. I feel it has a better display and gives me a better idea about what I am doing to a mix with eq. Just suits me better more than anything I guess you could say. Plus they are super helpful at HarBal. I guess having ozone and elephant probably helps but at present you need external comp and limiter with both anyway.

No I told you, they detected that you're newly married, so they won't allow you to use that.

Seriously, here's their requirements to get qualified for their virtual card:

The PayPal Debit Bar is available to users who:
* Have a Domestic PayPal account
* Are Verified (have added and confirmed a bank account)
* Have added a credit card whose monthly statement is sent to a physical street address (not a P.O. Box)
* Have a positive balance in their PayPal account
* Have a PayPal account in good standing (as determined by the Account Review Department)

Sorry for the false hope.

Thank god for the marriage-detector!

I wonder...see, is your Paypal account the same thing as your bank account? When I pay for something with Paypal, I just withdraw funds from my bank account. Should I actually transfer some money to the Paypal account first, in order to use this feature (which I won't, of course)?

Post

bduffy, I don't really know if you have to first withdraw money from your bank account or not. In my case, I had some money on my PayPal account from a bass that I sold on eBay. I used this money directly with thhe virtual credit card without using my bank account.

It looks like my account isn't fully verified, even though I verified it with a credit card; I recall doing the automated-phone-call thing, but it always says "get verified" on my account. Maybe that's it.

Oh well, probably for the best, really. :)

Most likely i must point out AAMS V1.5 is 21day free trail and in that time it has no limitations, so there is no point to buy it straight away, you can test it out for free 21days....

Now you can listen to what you expect!

AAMS V1.5 - Rev.006 - download at:

Thanks, I've been already trying the demo. But I should have waited, cause I don't have much time currently, and I just have 18 days left now.

If you run out of time, send me a mix and I'll put it through AAMS!

Thanks bduffy, hopefully I'll have some time to play with the demo this weekend.

Something I think is missing though, is the possibilty to listen to the reference tunes. I'd like to hear them to see if they correspond to what I'm looking for. For exemple my band is kind of jam/funk, but how can I know if the "funk" reference has the same type of sound? Maybe that funk reference had horn section, etc...

Post

Oh, I forgot that I could just use one of the CD's I have that I think are close enough, analyse it and load it as a reference then...

Yeah, I find you'll get the best results that way. I usually analyze and reference a CD of choice. You get good results with the provided ones, too, but they tend to sound more "by-the-book".
