Hi Ohm.ohm wrote:and so does LiveSlice 1.3 apparently. Now I'm pretty sure effects can have 8 outputs - forgot to write that in my original post. It's also possible that cubase will insist on only allowing two outputs from an effect - I wouldn't know.i guess eXT comes as a vst as well as vsti for a reason, too.
The best solution to these kinds of cubase limitations is to get energy XT and use that as a mixing bus inside cubase - like tractions rack effects. Everyone should have energy XT in their setup - it's one of those essential tools.
In SX the inputs/outputs to a plugin effect are governed by what sort of track (or group or FX channel) they are inserted in.
If it's a stereo group, you get 2 in 2 out (the rest are ignored, if there).
In a 5.1 group, an effect can have up to 6 ins and outs.
In Nuendo, I believe, the limit is 10 channels.
Should be no problem using it in SX - but please try to make sure that the FX version and the Instrument version can be used simultaniously - and can have different output configurations (so I can use the FX version as 2 in 2 out, while using the inst. version with 4 stereo outs.
As I said above, being able to drag slices from the FX version into an arrangement in the inst. version would be very cool (if possible ???)
If you want somebody to test an FX version in SX3 for you, just fling it my way !!
