Not to throw fire on the fire...

The whole "companies not providing a demo" or "Companies misleading blah blah blah" is a bullshit excuse that pirates try to make for themselves. If a product doesnt come with a demo, THEN DONT BUY IT - it doesnt come with a demo for a reason: would you buy a h/w product form the store if they didnt allow you to use it first? Then if they didnt, would you steal it to try it and then come back later and pay for it if it lived up to your expectations?

Not that this even matters in the case of FL Studio because the demo is fully functional except for the save function...this leaves no room for them to "mislead you" if they tried.

Do you really think there aren't any warez users on KVR? I would venture a guess that there are many, because it's a good place for support issues and there are lots of tips and techniques here. If anything, the real selling point of buying software is support from developers for their products. If support is poor or non-existent, what's left? Some presets and slipstream updates, if that.

I think zero tolerance is impossible. Except for the occasional poor sod who inadvertently answers a warez question incorrectly, most are unknown and will remain so, just like lurkers. Surely there are better things to concentrate on. Developers aren't going to leave a site where so many customers and potential customers hang out. In fact, I suspect they acknowledge a built-in abuse (warez) rate of 5 or 10 percent as part of the cost of doing business. It's like phone and Internet abuse in companies -- it's there and it's not going away, so there's typically a level that companies simply accept.

of course there are warez users here, you missed the point entirely, perhaps I should of said if kvr become warez friendly we would be over run...that's what I meant by flocking...to ignore that fact is turning a blind eye to a risk that could do more harm then good. Therefore when I say zero tollerence I mean if people come in blatantly posting crack links, boasting about using cracked versions and such and we allow it, kvr is done...not to mention it is clearly in the rules, just like I'm sure this thread will be locked or disapear...but if someone tells us they are using a cracked version, imo (remember I said that) we should make them feel unwelcome for the sake of kvr... :)

Then we are in agreement. :D I think it was said in another thread that any such postings should be replied to with an explanation that warez is unfair to those who create the software and that there are alternative software choices for those who have limited funds. In other words, instead of attacking them, educate and help them and make them welcome on KVR -- make them a part of a community that supports buying software and then having fun using it. It's a positive message with better long-term results, at least it seems that way to me.

Might as well be honest and give them the full URLs:

www.kvrz.ru/virus.exe and www.kvraudioz.ru/spyware.exe

(I also am annoyed at the price increase. I've been sitting on the fence about buying FL5 for the past month . Grrrrr!)

Take care,

I know this is music forum, but my Mercury Tracer is looking older and becoming less useful lately. If anybody has a link to a warezed Lexus, I'd appreciate it.....

Take care,
