The worst songs thread gave me an idea. How about a list of everyone in pop/rock/country music (or even techno or trance for that matter) who did a Christmas song and what the name of it was.

I know last Christmas I was marvelling at all the random people who had Christmas songs but I can't remmeber them all now. I know we have:

Elton John "Step into Christmas"

The Ramones "Merry Christmas (I Don't Wanna Fight Tonight)"

Paul McCartney "Wonderful Christmastime"

John Lennon "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)"

Someone did something like "Having the Blues for Christmas" but I can't remember who. Bruce Springsteen?

The Pretenders' "2000 Miles" is a classic.

The Darkness' "Christmastime (Don't Let The Bells End)"

Spinal Tap's "Christmas With The Devil"

Bad News' "Cashing In On Christmas"

Slade's "Merry XMas Everybody"

For my money, for the ultimate in cheesy Christmas songs, you cannot beat InstaSong.com.

Go ahead and fill in the variables, they let you listen to 1:30 of it for free ($5 to buy the whole tune). After you've tried the Romantic Christmas song, choose the funny->prank Christmas song.

Hilarious fun.

Wow, I didn't know about most of these.

Some of this actually scares me a little.

I'm starting to think that there is some kind of contractual thing many times with bands that stipulates they must do a Christmas song at some point.

I really enjoyed Peter Shilling and his version of Silent Night(Holy Night?)... Its in German but I thought thats what the translation must have been (twas years ago).

Some of you may remember Major Tom as his big hit. Now some of you may think of David Bowie. Now some of you may be thinking of David Bowie and Bing Crosbie????
