I share that feeling, I wont judge or pick favorites like that...what I will say is that listening to other music on the internet has given me a fresh perspective on my own music...which is always good...:)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Michel Banabila. Through reading about another musician, that name was in the "interview" and i looked it up, snagged a few mp3's (yes hink, i STOLE them :) ) and instantly fell in love.
I now have four of his cd's.

Another was Low...i came across them at Epitonic.com a few years ago, but never payed much attention although i did like them, but through reading a review of their last Cd the great destroyer, i looked them up again and STOLE more mp3's. Now i have 5 of their albums, two dvd's and am seeking more. what a thieving bastard i am, but i am sure as f**k neither michel banabila nor Low will mind.

EDIT: damn, that is really good. Always evolving. Now I see why they are always popping up in your "what are you listening to now" posts...

So many good artists out there but here are some of my favorites:

Torpedo Torpedo (jens)

Carl Eichman

Edit: Just because you prefer one artist's music over another, does not mean one is better than the other, it is what we happen to like :)

Never heard of them before either. Pretty good stuff, and definitely not lacking with the SHPN either.

Absolutely. It is not a statement of quality or worthiness, just music that you enjoy that you happen to have found online.

The vanguard of the rising Chinese noise scene. Lots going on over there.

Did you run into them doing the Koji Tano tribute album?

Calexico. They might be mainstream, but I've still never heard of them except via the internet.

No, it was before that - I was Googling for something else and came across the noishanghai site. I was pleasantly surprised to see them on the Tano tribute.

Hey, thats pretty good stuff as well. Almost hard to listen to though. Sounds like not sleeping for a week, or taking far too many sedatives and not being able to turn off the wierd movie on tv...
