Hi guys, happy to have made my donation for an excellent cause. I really want to hear the tracks on the CD, as I've been listening to the music made by many of the collaborators on KvR for a long time - is it out yet? No great rush, just curious. Cheers.

Out soonish -- Don't worry, there'll be a BIG  :singer: :band: announcement when it's ready. :)

Do we have good evidence that these guys are going to actually press these things? I'm sorry, it's just been dragging on much longer than expected.

Unfortunately, now it appears that we won't have these ready for Christmas shipping. That's quite unfortunate. Actually, I'm starting to wonder if they will even be available on cdbaby.com before Christmas.

I'm not blaming anyone involved here in our effort, but it seems like Duplium has really dropped the ball. I do recall that there was a message thread about a Duplium rep having to deal with a family death. I understand that puts some kind of a delay into the process.

Supposedly Duplium got paid by us on 11/14/2005. It's over a month later and we still don't have a ship date from them.

Is there any way to light a fire under them?

This doesn't bode well for them for future business with how many cd pressing offers there are out there.

Is there any way to stop payment to them and try someone else?

I've got a 7 bay duplicator at home. It takes all of about a minute to make 7 copies.

I understand that it's different to make the real deal with screen printed label, etc. - but it really seems like Duplium is dragging on this one.

Are we sure that they haven't shipped to cdbaby? Is there some way to check with cdbaby to see if the discs are actually there and we just don't know it?

Sorry for the rant - I'm just disappointed it has taken so long. I really wish I would have put more time into my track now!!!

I know it's frustrating Scott, but I have no doubt that they are working on them and they should be ready soon.
The whole process didn't start until after Thanksgiving and there were some graphic issues to work out.
Using someone else is not an option at this point as everything is already under way. Besides, these discs will be professional quality and last for years which is something a duplicator can not muster.
As I said, my contact at Duplium says he will email me when they are ready to ship to cdbaby. I will be sure to let everyone know as soon as that happens.
I know it is a frustrating wait, but it will be worth it in the end.

Yeah, but do you have a constant-filtered steady amplitude laser to cut a glass master with -- ensuring across-the-board quality of product? :hihi:

Why the devil do you have a 7 bay duplicator at home anyway Scotty? eH? Personally, I have never found the need for more than two backup copies of anything...

That sayethed, can you cut me a sweet deal on duplicating the CDs for me new Album Restrospective entitled "Sock-Hop Dishwasher & The Silver-Heeled Drive-in Princess"?

;)

Alex,

The duplicator belongs to the local chapter of Community Bible Study - which my wife belongs to. She is the person that dupes the copies of the week's lesson for folks that miss out on it.

We've had it at our place for about 4 months.

I realize the quality and longevity of copied CDs are nothing compared to a factory made CD, I'm just getting impatient and frustrated with the delay.

I went to the duplium site, and it appears to be more than a one-person show; but their dragging of feet with our project makes it seem like a back-door operation of sorts.

I just can't believe that we missed out on the Christmas shopping season with this project, when it seemed like the discs would be ready at the end of November - prime time.
