Can anyone advise here.

In the key editor I want the cursor to keep the screen moving. What is happening now is that the cursor carries on with the song, and disappears off the screen. is there anyway to have the screen auto scroll with the cursor? I am aware of the option to keep the cursor central, but this is not very good. Any ideas?

Press "F". If that doesn't work (might have to restore default Key Commands), click Follow button up top.

F (by default) makes the cursor follow the playback (the function is called autoscroll).

But there is a preference called 'Stationary cursor' which makes the project or editor scroll and the cursor stay at the center of the screen.

Great, thanks. Knew it was there somewhere.

I have another rather more complex question.

I am doin a song in 3/4 time. I am trying to quantise the drums but it never sounds right. Seems it is quantising to 4/4. How do you quantise to different time sigs?

You don't quantize to time sigs but to note values (1/4, 1/8, 1/16, etc.)

Set the time signature in the SX taskbar.

Quantize values are selectebale from the quantize drop down in the editors and project window.

If a song is in 3/4 and you quantize to 1/4 then nots will move to the quarter beat, and should still be OK for 3/4.

CHeck the qunantize setup (on the same drop down menu) and play about with triplet timing, it may be what you are looking for, but if not you can create your own templates there.

Thanks guys. Been using cubase and sx for years. I'm aware of the pull downs etc, but - ashamedly - this is the first time I have broken out of 4/4 and the quantising is proving tricky. Made an assumption that it was to do with the time sig.

yeah, we don't get outside of 4/4 much, do we? Kinda sad. I understand your confusion and I often get confused when using different time sigs. It'll be good for your brain though!
