I have a gig to do....
A matrix style soundtrack...

For orchestra I'll use VSL and EWQL GOLD,
for percussion mostly Stylus RMX, Stormdrum
and i need some synth sounding FAT... or how od You call that....
I have Steinberg Plex and Xphraze and also Absynth 3 but looking for something more... some cool bass and other electric sounds....

What can You propose to me ? I need some VSTis...

I'd have thought you could get all of that with Absynth 3 - in fact wasn't it used for The Matrix 2 and 3 soundtracks?

what do You think people about them? I know that I can't really put cameleon in chalange with other too... it's far more then those but what about the sound...???

If you're talking about all the bigbeat type stuff, then you're probably best of using some freeware synths and banging them through old guitar distortions. This is how those guys get those nasty acid lines and stuff (although they probably use some vintage analog just to spout off about in their next SOS interview

).

If you mean the more ambient score type sounds, then I agree Absynth is a good choice. Get some good samples to and mix these in with your synthesised sound and orchestral.

Not really to be honest. Just any old VA synth will do the job I think - much of the character comes from the distortion and filtering.

This is what BT does with alot of his stuff. He talks about how he makes these amazing sounds using Synthedit freeware, yet he often forgets to mention that he's sent it through a chain of pedals, his guitar amp and about twenty fx plugins! After that kind of processing you wont differentiate one synth from another, not chance.

Even better though, you could find out what gear your favorite artists are using then see if there's a VST version. Chances are their will be, and the difference wont be so great as to make or break you tracks.

I need some VSTis for Matrix Soundtrack type sound....
