Good bands you've recently discovered

I am into World and Ethnic Fusion. Recently bought two albums of this artiste. Mindblowing mix of east and west. Try the 30 sec samples in Amazon.

I've discovered so much this year it isn't funny anymore. And it's been an insanely short year, too.
Off the top off my head:
Arcade Fire
Sufjan Stevens
A bunch from the Kranky roster: Charalambides, Lichens, Windy and Carl, &c.
Assorted poetic weirdness like Goodypal and La Société des Timides à la parade des Oiseaux.
The tiny and quiet ambient loops of FM3.
And a whole bunch of others.

- always thought he was exclusively a hardcore techno guy, but his early-mid-90's output is excellent, conceptual noise/field recording work.

Fire in the Head
- best new power electronics unit I've heard in years.

Devillock/Panther Skull
Roxanne Jean Polise
- much needed lo-fi creepiness.

Aaron Dilloway
- I was already familiar with Wolf Eyes, but the man's solo stuff is phenomenal. Pitch-black concrete sound.

Prurient
- I'd heard of him a long time ago, but didn't get around to hearing his work until this year. Amazing, exruciating power electronics/noise, more passionate and emotional than most.

Also, forget about artists, I've discovered the existence of whole subgenres of dnb I didn't know existed - choppage (good), twerkstep (probably good although I haven't heard much of it) and clownstep (slightly silly).

Are you sure? Rotersand have nice artwork but I thought they were a little like a dozen or three other, better known bands. And The Killers? Wow!

I guess I haven't really discovered Rotersand since I've only heard like 4 tunes, but they were quite cool imo.

The Killers make great dance-chart-indie-pop or wtf it is! Totally overproduced and whatnot!

Kaiser Chiefs and Editors.

Hardly discoveries I'll admit but I hadn't heard any of their stuff until the tape player (!) broke down in my car and I started listening to XFM. What's most striking is that here are 2 bands who have really cracked how to get old-style synths into a guitar band. Marvellous.

Totally forgot about Kaiser Chiefs, great band! I especially dig "Everyday I love you less and less" or whatever it's called.

Nashville Pussy, especially "Say Something Nasty", classic redneck music with a sick twist. Got myself a serious old-school thrill with some "Betty Blowtorch" as well.
