Bum. That's the synth I started work on two years ago and lost heart! [sadly true.. most features of what I designed are there, save a couple of bits I'll keep quiet about and dust the old project down..!]

Wow! Looks like a nice competition to Chameleon. I have been waiting for an additive synth like this for a while, very happy to see that Kjærhus might be bringing me what I have been looking for...

Yes, but it's a creative tool and not made as a way to play samples (we got sample players for that).

No and no! We have done all we could to make this as intuitive and non technical for the user as possible meaning implementing everything the easies possible way for the user. You can get great sounds out of it without getting lost in a technical jungle

Not before the release date. The sound designers are still making preset.

God I hope this synth will be different as Torben says. After all do we really need another soft synth after the likes of Absynth, Chameleon, et al?

That was the context I meant it in Torben.
As long as it does resynthesis of .wav files + synthesis I am interested.
Much like how you can perform resynthesis of .wav files in Kubik to create wavetables for wavesequenced patches etc etc ...
I don't wan't perfect resynthesis just something that provides a good building block to a patch or myover all sound design goals.

is too high - 90 bucks is enough.

all the freewares, magwares,
abandonwares and blowoutwares are more than enough to make
charthits - if someone is talented.

Like everyone, I can't wait to HEAR this thing. But for now the LOOKS alone are stunning! Can't wait to demo this!

Being a Reason-aholic I've not been one to buy VST synths (and I got rid of all the freebies a while back in order to simplify my workflow). The only synth I have ever paid for on its own was the Ableton Operator.

But funnily enough I have been demoing Camelion, which sounds fantastic... some of the time. I can see the concept with this is somewhat different, but I'm looking forward to considering it alongside and deciding which will suit me best (after all, skin-flint that I am I'm not about to buy both...)

More generally, is this an Absynth killer ? That's what I'm really looking for. I've been looking through all the new synths, but they're not quite competition for Absynth. For example, Octopus, Blue, Sytrus - none of them qualify.

The only two that look good enough so far are Zebra 2 and Spectra.

Will this be a big, evolving, sountrack/ambient-capable synth, or have I got your intention wrong with this ?

Very interesting, good looking synth that seems to be easy to use... but the price is a little too high for me right now (even the intro price). Something to dream of then...

I now that with 100% certainty.
It doesn't stop me making music now as is.
It would just be nice to see a synth that I like and be able to purchase it and use it.
I am in no way denying the power or validity of the many great freeware dev's and apps out there.
Things like resynthesis though and good quality sample players with synthesis or synths verging on the more exotic end of the spectrum such as wavesequencing or complex FM actually do cost money.
One of lifes realities.
There are just some sounds you can't get from freeware VST's in those areas.
I don't wish for a folder full of bloatware.
However say Zebra , This and something like Surge would be damn nice to have on hand when needed.
And trust me it's hard going from healthy and financial to chronic pain and pensioned.
Some days it just gets you down that's all.
