I uninstalled it, downloaded Live 5.02 and installed it. The same problem. THis time, it doesnt even give an error message. Doesnt even open the greeting window. It loads the ableton Live picture, says scanning for plugins and after it finishes scanning, it dissapears and BOOM! crash. THen windows comes to the rescue. :bleh:
wow, sorry to hear that. live, in my experience, has been the most stable app i use. i have no idea why that is happening. i hope for your sake its just a problem with the demo......
I had that problem too.for me though i found it to be my pop-up blocker STOPZILLA when i turned it off it was fine, LIVE started with no problems.not saying that is your problem but you can try.
1) If you're using McAfee or Norton products, turn them ALL off. Don't rely on the taskbar on/offs either; after turning off things through the usual icons on the taskbar, go into Task Manager and stop them- you'll find some things from either of them still running. I've seen problems with Live with both of them.
2) A dodgy plugin's the other usual culprit, especially if it returns to the desktop after the scan. I know you're a Reaktor user, but I can't remember if you're using 4 or 5. With 4, make sure you're running the last version. and for 5, download the VST hotfix and run it.
3) If you're using USB and/or Firewire anywhere in your audio/MIDI chain, power up before you start up Live and make sure power management's shut off...
