"Donovan" has been taken. EDIT: They beat me to it!

I hope you'll find something that nears the "cold, dark" feel of sicklecell666. I always took it as a dark sense of humour thing, which fits you. There have been a number of 666's here, though, which may mean the name is passe so a change would be good.

Somehow, "SaviorNeeded" just doesn't come across with that same sly, dark, watch-your-back atmosphere. It's more wussy, loves to skip rope and you can take this sap for anything. On the other hand, nobody's going to try to steal it.

My opinion (well, you did ask for it )

I agree with others in that the 666 either comes across as some real hardcore weirdo (but not in the huggable way that you are here ) or a 16 year old trying to be a real hard core weirdo.

On the other hand, I quite like Sicklecell. I always associate sickles with the Grim Reaper, which in turn makes me think about darkness, relentlessness, fear, regret and so one. Personally, I think those emotions reflect a lot of your music (stuff I have listend to anyway). The "cell" bit adds a little something that I can't put my finger on, but it makes the Sickle so much better.

Well, you did ask...

but sickle cell anemia also comes to mind as well, I'm not sure if that's good...;)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

"Sickle on probation" has a catchy ring to it.

Try the Prince thing and change your name to something like

When people ask how to pronounce it, roll your eyes and walk away.

Sicklecell666
Donovan Lychee
How about put them altogether and get Sicklecell Lycheefruit. I think that says it all really.

And if you then decide to go the Artist formerly known as route, it might look a little something like

Sickle Cell sounds ok to me (I've never heard it has racist connotations) but leave that 666 out because it sounds like a 16.66 year-old death metal kid trying to sound dark and scary - which he of course isn't. And according to discogs.com no one else has used the alias Sickle Cell.

I have no other names to suggest, but you could ask yourself what you want to say with your music and then try to find an alias that reflects it.

Why don't you change it to "669.. Yeah I'm bluffin'" - y'know.. bit of sense of humour maybe?

It very definitely has racist connotations- sickle cell anemia exclusively occurs in the black population and is usually fatal eventually.

How about Semichrist 333?

Not too sure how it has racist connotations.. sure... it occurs only in a specific race.. doesn't make it racist. What you meant (I hope) is that it has RACIAL connotations. Slightly different statement.

The real number is purported to be 616 anyway...

Beast's real mark devalued to '616'

According to Wikipedia, "[sickle cell anemia] is common in people from parts of the world where malaria is or was common, especially in West Africa or in descendents of those peoples. Sickle cell disease can occur in any individual of any color or ethnicity, however."

That Semichrist 333 is hilarious. :D

Voidoid Surrealist wrote:Works just fine for a screen name, but people who don't know you are bound to jump to some stupid conclusion about racism (Sicklecell) or might not take you seriously (666), thinking you're playing the kiddie-style "Look at me! I worship Satan! Buy this music to piss off your parents!" game. Not that the later style of music doesn't have it's great moments, but your stuff seems way more "mature" than that.
You nailed my issues 100%.

I've explained many times here that the 'Sicklecell666' screen name was a random creation I whipped up on the fly while registering AIM cause a buddy told me some horny chick wanted to 'cyber' me and Iwas in a hurry to talk sexy to the Fat Pig pretending to be a Hot Chick..

:hihi:

As stupid as that sounds, that's literally all there is behind my screen name. My issues with racism are complex and irreleveant to this discussion., and the Devil can eat my impacted colon for all I care, cause that twatter's not even real AFAIC..

Moving on..

I was thinking about something like 'Jenova Strain' or 'Jenova Breed'..something like that..

I've always been fascinated by the FFVII story of the entity that crashed into the game world's planet; it/he/she was called Jenova. She was first mistaken as the Demiurge and inifltrated most of the humans on the planet with a corruption that gave way to modern society/science and it's better aspects like individual Greed(you can see I'm not trailing off very far from the SALIGIA stuff here..) as well as vast resource exploitation of the planet's natural resources at the expense of future generations and Empire building upon the backs of the Poor.

Jenova's genetics inevitably were spliced into the human genome for the purposes of breeding out Human Weaknes(from an NWO point of view) while enhacing 'super-human' attributes ala Hitler and his Eugenics/Aryan programs.

The result was unpredictable Monstrosities that ravaged everything in sight.

Image

That's a part of Jenova's life support mask in my sig, btw..I've often associated this mask with the hollowness of my own spirit/soul/whatever.

Image

Another artist's rendition of Jenova:

Image

Also, the obvious similarity between 'Jenova' and 'Jehova' is an irony I can scarcely ignore..

This is not a tribute to a video game, rather it's a nod to an abstract rendition of the early biblical references to the Nephilim, or The Fallen; "Angels" who bred with Human women prompting God's wrath and the alledged destruction of Earth through the Great Flood..

Another genetic failure. Maybe the oldest, but let's not persue that any further..

It's sort of complex, but 'Jenova' as a title's never left the back of my head..

I can't and won't use 'Donovan', and while we're on that subject, you guys are the ones that adopted the 'Don' nomenclature, but I never pointed out how much it bothered me cause I knew a deluge of deliberate instigations would inevitably follow..As far as forum adress, 'Donovan' or Sickle' is great, though, and appreciated. The reasonas I dislike 'Don' are very personal and involve issues I swore I'd refrain from breaching on my return here.

The only person I don't mind being called 'Don' from is ew, cause he's literally like a big brother to me..

I'm gonna pay out the ass for admittig to this, I know it..

:hihi:

Steve, I expected butthole reactions on this, but not from you..
