Indeed :) I am way pleased and impressed (not easy to do these days ;) ).

I got a little startled when my latency shot up after install, but I adjusted it and now haven't had anymore probs.

I'm with Hink as far as the piano-roll midi-control. That's VERY useful :)

The new mixer is joyful indeed -- 90% of the items I wanted to see in it are there and work.

Still trying to spot bugs but nothing major so far.

Big kudos to the FL team :D

I'll be honest, it met my expectations but the new mixer is a bit of a bother. I much prefer the old one. A "legacy mixer" option would be something I'd love.

HI

Having bought FL a few years ago (but never really using it much) I always download the latest up-date and have a look.

I imagine all users will be happy with the extras (not the extra reported bugs though).

There is an awfull flickering/distorted sound going on here as well ... up-dates no doubt needed?

Adjustment's have improved things to a point whereby the above comment is redundent!

I dunno. The second FL6 came out I had it downloaded and running. I probably spend 4-6 hours with it daily so you'd think I'd be used to it. The problem is that I use a resolution of 1024x768 on my 17" monitor, because my vision isn't so great and the monitor is far from my face (I have a midi keyboard AND computer keyboard inbetween). That's the only comfortable resolution I can use.

Thus, when I'm working on projects, the mixer is often in a bad position, forcing me to close the Channel Settings window or Browser in order to see what I need to see. I also have to do a lot of unnecessary scrolling. I found clicking on a bank to be much easier.

Just my opinion.. I'm probably one of FL's biggest supporters, don't get me wrong. :)

I love all the improvements in FL6 so far. DirectWave is the sampler I needed; Delaybank and Multiband Compressor plugins are very very interesting. New mixer is a huge improvement. etc

there's only a but. I have only been able to use FL6 twice, due to lack of time these days, and I've encountered so far with no problems at all, BUT there are so many people complaining about glitches that I'm a bit afraid to encounter them when I delve deeper into the new version and write complex songs, record audio, etc

I've been swamped with other stuff mostly, but I definitely like what I've been able to do with the new delay module routings. With grain control and a heap of other filter options per delay line, it's perfect for the way I like to use delay on percussion.

DirectWave is cool so far. Successfully loaded a bunch of .gig files that I'd been using within the rare version of SFZ+. Now I can see how the notes are mapped, unlike in SFZ+, so that's a bonus. Additionally, it has portamento which SFZ+ doesn't have, but I can't seem to find a way to set velocity curves which is a nice feature of SFZ+.

Load up the "Bright Horn" preset of DW. Set to legato with a slight portamento. Then go to your filter section and play around. Now that's expressive! Great little filters, and I love having a numerical readout of the Freq I'm tweaking. Sweet.

It may be my imagination but the stereo enhancer seems more happening.

I have no use for Direct Wave, I only use vsampler for my bass samples anyhow. I'm use to the workflow and DW would just be wasted on me...:)

BTW, the scroll bar in the playlist is absolutely driving me looney with it's momentum. Did they think that would be cute or something?

Post

There's momentum on everything that can scroll now, I think. I don't mind it.. but maybe an on/off switch for it would be nice.

you're right. I hope enough people complain about it so they make a patch or something that would offer to switch the function

Post

The smooth-scrolling really is an improvement AFAIC. To have it direct linked to the mouse was too mechanically jerky to the eyes - now I just just kind of jogg & shuttle it with a little wrist movement and I'm zeroed in. I honestly like it that way, but for those that don't there should be an option I agree. ;)

Why dont you just let go AFTER you're done scrolling?
