Currently using Sonar 4 (haven't used that much). I like the flexibility of midi routing, but damn - this program seems so awkward compared to Logic (used Logic for years on the mac).
In any case - I'm trying to set up Stokastik, which is a midi fx vst, to use in Sonar...I don't see how to do it. I've researched a bit, but I'm coming up empty.
Is this possible? Is it possible in version 5?
sonar users - possible to use midi vst as mfx?

It isn't possible using the VST adapter that comes with Sonar, as this will not pass midi along to the next plugin, nor can you use midi VST's as MFX's, as they are completely different animals. From what others have said, DirectiXer does have some sort of midi loopback built in that will allow these plugins to work, so it might be worth checking that out and seeing how you get on.
It has been requested a number of times over on the Cakewalk BB for them to add support for VST midi plugins, so hopefully they will add it in a future update (maybe after they have sorted the automation problems out).

I have DirectIXer, and yes, it has a MIDI output (if I remember right, it was originally added with Groove Agent in mind).
I'd probably be more likely to do this with EnergyXT.
