Generally I prefer the old look too. It looked more coherant. The only new skin I liked was the alternative Eve-One skin.

As for the sliders, they're *all* too thin, especially the ADSR ones which I'm likely to be fiddling with most. They need to be roughly square for maximum ease - any elongated shape will be difficult.

this and the legacy, ok?

maybe I manage to change skin on the fly,
or you'll have two DLLs

looks nice

Yes I like that one quite a bit. But the elliptical knobs make me feel a little bit drunk or something ;)

It is nice Liqih, but floyd's right the knobs are a bit odd looking. I think round is the way to go :)

very cool! The metal panels are a big improvement on the wood ones in the context of this skin. About the eleptical knobs- keep them  ! I really like them- it took a couple of minutes to take them in, but I think they are clean and elegant.

About the soundset browser, and the preset browser. I think it would be really good to use the new soundset browser from EVE ONE, the same colors as the branis skin, but more importantly, the up/down arrows. Also, a window like this could replace the 'presets' button, with the arrows being use to scroll through presets, and a click to bring up the whole bank. This would also mean that the current preset name is always showing on the GUI.

Just thinking further- about the red LED stuff on the new skin. Maybe this skin would work well with a blue LED look?

The oval buttons look extremely silly to me. First of all: Why are they oval ? What's the point ? I find them distracting. There's a good reason no one else has used this silly idea.

And the sliders are still way too thin. Please think about the purpose of these controls: to make editing a sound fast & simple. Thin sliders and oval buttons don't help much.

Perhaps consider making the slider "handles" translucent with a thinner central solid area to show exactly where the slider is positioned.

Sorry if I sound harsh but I think there's too much uncritical head-nodding here.

nothing harsh, just an honest optinion, that's cool,

now the sliders are the same size of the ones in EVE 1.8, were they thin before?

moreover you don't need to grab them with the mouse,
when you click on the whole run the slider follows,
do you know?

the elliptic knobs have 3 good reasons IMHO
1) no one else has used, so they looks new
2) they do help to realize the position
since the shape is strongly directional
3) they are elegant, if you care

anyway you'll have also the legacy skin with the standard EVE look

Why round? what is the point? How exactly is round more *functional*? More mainstream, yes, but try using the beta, do you really think it is non-functional to have a visual bias towards the current parameter settings?

TBH, for useability and visual identification of synthesis settings, I think the oval knobs do a much better job than the round.

head-nodding always looks uncritical when you (the impersonal 'you') don't agree with it. But, it is good to have you here commenting! 8)

I still don't like the elliptical knobs either. Reminds me of alien heads for some reason. :?

But as long as you can choose skins, thats sort of a non-issue.

ditto

Hello, cant say that I'm really fond of the new skins. I'd prefer round knobs and I'd like the envelope sliders to be a bit larger. I think the layout is good and could get used to the color scheme.
Are you doing away with the animated tool tips?

Is there any chance that there could be some type of indication of the current bank selected? Maybe just a check mark in the pop up bank menu.

The oval knobs remind me of chicken heads. I like them.
