Volume keeps turning down - SampleTank VST

I'm using SampleTank 2 (VST) and Sonar 4. When I assign an instrument to a track in SampleTank and then start playback with Sonar the volume in SampleTank moves to 80. I can move it up to the desired level (say 105 or so) during playback but when I stop and rewind it goes back to 80. How do I make it stay put? I know I can do it with an envelope in Sonar but when you're dealing with 8 tracks assigned to one voice (drum parts) that's not really practical.

Sonar might have a "volume" parameter for each midi track. in your case, it would be set to 80.

There's a similar feature in Cubase (I use Cubase), and I disable it by setting the track volume to "-1". I'm not sure how it works in Sonar.
