Its the demo of the 10 band. I knew about the box with the different filter types but I thought they were different filter types - not bands. I thought bands were like when you have a line (don't know the proper term) and it has nodes on it that correspond with the bars on a fixed type of eq and when you click on them it adds more nodes (like in Voxengo Curve and Poshofit). Adding these extra filters in this one add extra lines too which is more confusing - plus when you move one it moves them all which is annoying if I want them to stay put.

That's only the case with processors that have fixed bands, but in general it's referred to as 'bands' whether they're fully parametric (their center frequency can be moved around freely, amongst other things) or fixed/limited frequency ranges (like in many multiband compressors, or on graphical eqs).

Hello, Fantastic eq !!!, the best ive ever heared, all i can think about since i download the damo is how to buy this monstar, holymoly!, the M/S section is absolutly great for phaseing and mastering.

now i have Q about the X virsion, i know that the X dont have the PL (phaseline)section but i cant hear different,do you can?

i can hear different in the sound when i'm insert the eq to
to my master (the low end become more smooth) but i cant tell the different bettwen the X and regular virsion, it is worth buying?

I'm running the 3-band PLParEQ3 v2.21 which has a few more filters available than the original offering. The ones I can't get to are:
6-pole notch
1/F Low Pass
Tunable 1/F LPF
Tunable F HPF
A Weighted
B Weighted
C Weighted

I can get to 14 other filter types - all pass, band pass, band reject, hp, lp, peaking (3 types), low shelf, high shelf, 1 pole lp/hp, 4 pole lp/hp. All can be set on Left, Right, L and R, L+R-, Mid, Side, M+S-, phase linear selectable or not. Lots of power here!

So has anyone bought the 10-band version for $1000? Admittedly the new X versions are a much better deal, and even the once-free 3-band is only $150, but I'm curious if anyone has gone for the mother of them all?

I've searched around, can't find anyone talking about it/reviewing it other than forum run off from KVR.

I like PlParEQ3, but to be honest I don't much use it. I generally find I prefer using other EQs.

shamann- WHAT!, you dont use it, how can you not use it, you need review to use it?, man its sound SUPER GOOD!

i want to kill my self that i didnt have the chance to get the 20$ donation, now i need to spend 150$ that is very expenssive for me. (btw if someone is not happy with his copy you can send it to me and ill donate even 50$)

No, not at all. I was looking to find reviews of the 10-band model. Seems strange to me that no one out there is talking about it.

I'm not sure why I don't use the 3-band very often. I don't really do a lot of EQ'ing on a final mix, so I tend to use EQs as track effects, and I usually use stuff that I like working with (Nyquist, posihfopit, GEQ-7) or is better designed to colour the sound (EQ22, OvertoneEQ, posihfopit, GEQ-7).

know that if you want to find the good stuff you need to dig more deep to find them

as for the eqing, you can use the plpar3 for mixing to, put in on bass,kick drum or group....its matter of taste

I am an owner. And yes it is not cheap but to my ears it is worth every penny of it. The X version is a steal, in my opinion - I'd go for that one in a heart beat, if I couldn't afford the full power.

To me this is the best sounding eq I've ever heard, anywhere, whatever that opinion is worth.

Bump for an incredible EQ -- just happily bought the 10-band monster for my mastering company.

After pitting this EQ against the Algorithmix Red and Orange, it was a clear winner in usability and value for money; the many M/S options and per-band phase response switching are too good to pass up.

Sound-wise, I found it more difficult to decide between the Algo and PlPar, as although the latter had lower-level ringing artefacts, they occurred sooner than the Algo, which had tighter, but higher-level ringing artefacts. 9 times out of 10 I'd probably go for the PlPar, and as I have no interest in buying both, it's not a difficult decision.
