I need a program that will record the output of my soundcard. I could simply wire it back in but I need the perfect audio before it leaves my sound card. Can you do this in AA, and if not, are there any free programs that will do so?

Look for a program called Total Recorded from High Criteria. This can record what you're after.

I can recommend Silent Bob...the useful thing about it for sampling is that it caches however long you want from before the point you hit record, and saves that too.

I assume by AA you mean Adobe Audition in which case yes you can. But its also dependant on your soundcard driver allowing you to loopback, but once you've got that set up you can just launch AA and hit the record button.

I jsut use audacity. You can make it record whatever is being procesed by your soundcard. Not that I would do that to take samples from DVDs or anything.

In audacity go to

File>Preferences

You can choose from the drop down on the Audio I/O tab where audactity will record from. In my case, I have set it to MAudio Delta AP Mon. Mixer which enables me to record whatever is passing through my 2496 card, be it audio from Sonar, or DVD audio, streaming internet radio, porn sounds, etc, etc
