Sonik Synth 2 sound file problem

I recently moved my SS2 library to another file on my hard drive. Apparently, during this process the "A Acoustic Guitar" subfolder in the "C Guitar+Bass" folder somehow got corrupted and shows no instruments even after relisting.
I have tried to delete the AG subfolder, but every time I try to access it to open/move/delete, it either crashes my PC (WIN XP PRO) or gives me a message about "invalid I/O device."
I have since renamed the "C G+B" file to "J Empty" and removed all the other subfolders to a newly created "C G+B" file, and re-installed the "A AG" file from the SS2 disc to it. All my old combis work as they should with this configuration, but I still have this corrupted file ("J Empty" containing the corrupted "A Acoustic Guitar")sitting in my SS2 folder.
Does anyone know what I have to do to delete this file? As always, any assistance is most appreciated.
Thanks

Strange. I strongly suggest that you contact IK tech support for help first.

You're not the only one who thinks so. As promised, here's the response from IK:
Just my luck.Huh.. never heard of this.. sounds like a HD problem.. or access problem. I would try to boot into safe mode and retry deleting it.
Thanks to all for the diagnosis.

Physical hard drive faults never get better, and often quickly get worse. If you bought your hard drive this year, I suggest you take it back to the shop for a replacement. If it's a bit older, consider buying a new one (they're cheap!) and copying any critical data across before the problem getws worse.

Not to worry. The drive is a removable USB that stores all the gigabytes of wav data that are now standard issue with most softsynths, samplers and romplers. I should be able to transfer the data to a new drive without too much fuss.Kim (esoundz) wrote:Physical hard drive faults never get better, and often quickly get worse.
