Hey everyone... I am loving Miroslav sooo much. I have a classical question though.. I have not had much exposer to classical music with vocals/choirs in it. Can anybody recommend some classical pieces that show off this aspect of the music? Thank you very much! :)

Anything classified under "choral" music will do.

Ciao.

Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” is a classical piece for orchestra and choir which has inspired many movie score composers (some would say too many :hihi: ). Here’s a short clip:

Several to choose from by Bach or Mozart
Beethoven 9th Symphony
Ravel's "Daphnis & Chloe" suites for orchestra and chorus
Brahms or Verdi Requiems

...just to name a few.

Benjamin Britten's "War Requiem" is another one.

Do also try and catch a REAL live concert if you can. Even if you get a seat up in the rafters or whatever. Depending on your location, many cities also have free concerts available. This time of year the Messiah is probably a popular choice.

Miro is pretty nice, eh? Enjoy!

Thanks for all the tips! I'm gonna compile a CD with the suggested tracks and drive with them. :)

For somthing a bit different try the classic ECM disc "Officium" with the Hilliard Ensemble and Jan Garbeck on soprano saxophone. Also check out the Fauré requium with the choir of Kings College Cambridge.

Its a cliched recommondation - but Mozarts Requiem Mass for the Dead is truley sublime.

I highly recommend a group called E.S. Posthumus. You may have heard alittle of one of their tracks in a movie trailer or the theme song for Cold Case. But the entire "unearthed" CD is really amazing. Lots of beautiful choral work.
It's never too late to become who you were meant to be.
