has anyone contcted cd baby to find out what's going on...I now have people telling me that they think I'm full of shit....my cousin who was going to help us now has plulled out for that reason...would somebody please contact cd baby and get us a date when these are suppose to be done....sorry but now I'm real frustrated....and sorry about my cousin...but he said it's too far past the hurricane now for him to be able to help us...he wouldn't endorse it or get anyone else to endorse it until it was ready for delivery...he wasn't pleased when I told him mid december....now he has said he can't help....I am unable to mention the names that he would of lined up...but now it's moot and a terrible loss...in fact he said too me "this is why we seldom get involved with independant musicians"...I not trying to sound like a jerk, but we are losing future sales here....we need to know why...

I think you are feeling what many are. Look at the page 236 of the thread for freeztar's response to my question that was about the same.

Supposedly the CDs haven't even been shipped to cdbaby yet. Duplium, the disc duplicator, is the supposed culprit.

Unfortunately, at least here in America, Katrina seems to be filed under 'old news' already. The tyranny of the urgent applies to the news as well.

Hopefully when the CD is finally available, we can somehow get some attention shifted to it. I don't know what that will be.

Hang in there, people. Duplium has at least charged the money they contracted so at least someone there is doing something.

We're doing everything we can to chase after them but we're only so many people and we're spread all over the place so it's hard to kick anyone's butt.

I preordered a bundh of CDs to use as Christmas gifts and they are not going to arrive in time, and that is a shame considering all the time and effort each and every one of us has put into this project. But there really isn't muchh we can do about that at the moment.

I think it would be a good idea to ask Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity what they would do with the money they receive, because no matter how off broadway this disaster has come, the money is not wasted.
Couldn't we get a few statements from RC and HfH to emphasize the continuous need for money? Just to make it clear that things haven't fixed themselves quite yet?

I have been following it closely, but I missed the point about Duplium...unfortunately I got word yesterday of how bad it has hurt us...I cant go into to details, all I can say is we lost some major voices speaking out for us...Im gonna take some blame because like you I have some influence...I should not of played my cards until it was done...but I fear that you are correct, getting attention to it now is gonna be tough now.

Im deeply saddened that some very good people worked so hard on this and someone else fumbled the ball on the goal line. So now I ask, how can we contact Duplium? Has someone contacted them?

Thats something my wife says I should do for a living, when a company lets me down they rarely do it twice. What were the terms from Duplium? Is it over due? If it is we should (and I wiould) get something back, or more CDs...anyway you look at it, its a crime that so many here worked so hard and the cds couldnt be ready for xmas because of an outside company.

Im not sure if anyone eles thought of this, but many people I know said they would wait for them to be finished because of the prizes. They are not musicians so they felt that the prizes meant nothing for them...so they waited. Now they may be skeptical...I know at least 10 people who would of ordered it last month, Im not sure how many of them still will.

@Freeztar, Im gonna send the name Duplium to my contact to see what he says about them (I havent heard of them, but I haven't had cause to seek out duplication in the last few years)...as you know from my PM he is concerned about the honesty issue. As he asked if I was sure if I was not getting the run around (duped I believe was the word he used). At least he will tell me the straight dope on them which might bring peace of mind. Though I don't think he'll be able to offer more help now...

I suspect the fact that we are unsigned artists we may be getting bumped so signed artists can have product for the holidays...we should have the same respect given to us. Did they give you a date for when they would be ready?

i am a signed artist(but not to a major label of course...). but i do not think that this makes any difference to them.

hmm...their page when you look for a quote asks what kind of turn around you want. It starts at 3 days and goes up to 15 days...Im sure they are legit, but hasn't it been past 15 days?

Im sorry I disagree, greased palms work faster...when they have a group like us that could be a one time thing and customers you have as regular clients of course they are going to put their "money makers" first..and Merry Xmas to you too...
