That's funny, I thought Bob's your uncle!

This is wonderful news. Start the New Year with major sales promotions . . . can't wait to get me grubby hands on the CD! :D

Yeah -- wot's this "Bob" thing about anyway?

Ya got "Yessiree Bob" and "Sponge Bob" in America, "Bob's yer uncle" in Aussieville, ya got yer "Bobbies" in England (and in the North all the girls call penises 'Bobbies")... go figure...

Merry Christmas Micah, and many thanks for your great song contribution mate :)

Alex,

Don't forget that Bob is a favorite middle name for many folks from the south in the US: Billy Bob, Jim Bob, etc.

Now, explain to me how answering the ringing telephone has something to do with a 'dog and bone.'

I know - rhyming slang - but how is one to keep up with it?

This was the best guide I could find, but it says it's Cockney rhyming slang. The guys I work with don't seem to be cockney, but they do this rhyming thing once in awhile and I have no clue what they are talking about.

Well, I'm no cockney -- my accent is more Northern Irish/English with a touch of the cosmopolitan (I like to think ;) ) growing up in Belfast, Liverpool/Blackburn Lancashire, Hong Kong and Shanghai (in that order). My dad was a shipfitter foreman.

Cockney is what the southerners do round the east bit of London and was carted off to Australia and there mangled even further, like "Sherman tank" means to have a wank and "loaf of bread" means your head, with the Aussies havin a lot of slang like "Let's hit the Frog & Toad" (hit the road) 'Sticky Beak' (to have a peek) and "It's a bit Piccadily" means it's chilly out, etc.

In Lancashire, we have something of a dialect and speak like: I saed wheer arto' beawn an' th' owd lad saed om gooin' into th' Soustreet fer a saup o' all. Theaw'll goo yah? Listen to some old buggers there speak and you'll think they're from another planet :hihi:

Anyway, no need to put up with that -- tell the fookers to speak English! :hihi:

Merry Christmas Scotty and many thanks for your song contribution me mate (and your patience) ;)

Cheers,
Alex

well in that case, i'm gonna take a "sticky beak" at my "bobbie" and have a "sherman tank", hopefully not hitting myself in the "loaf of bread." then i guess i'll "hit the frog and toad," but damn its "a bit Piccadily" outside.

or something like that........ :hihi:

acutally i'll just sit here at work and wait for the day to be over......

And many thanks for your tireless (almost) efforts on this project. Safe to say that w/out you it wouldn't have come through.

I hope you and those you love have a mirthful Legally Recognized Interval (as one of my overly-politically-correct friends put it)! :hihi:

But . . . that's the whole point, then, innit?

Well, apparently cdbaby is gone for the holidays as all my phone calls go directly to their voicemail and they have not responded via email. We should be live by Monday or Tuesday. :)

remember some people take the whole week off...tucows did that to fl two years ago when they released FL4.5 I believe....so it might be next year...;)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I'd count on them being out at least Monday. When Christmas falls on a Sunday, the Federal Holiday is observed on Monday here in the States.

Yeah, that's true...so they should be back on Tuesday...but who knows...

Well, just got an email from them saying that they are digitizing it today. So perhaps we'll be live even sooner. :)
