Anyone know how to properly setup ST2 in LE7 without having to open up multiple instances of ST2? In DP4 I only have to open ST2 once, but I can't figure out how or if I can do the same in LE7. Thanks and my apologies if this was the wrong place to ask.

You have to open it as a multi first... then select Sampletank 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 etc. in an Aux channel. in Logic. Depending how you have set up your autoload, you should have at leat 6 Aux channels. Go to the environment, and in the Aux channel select Sampletank as the input!

I do not have an option to open it as a multi only stereo or mono.

O.K. are you talking about Pro Tools or Logic?? If it's PT, can't help you there... if it's Logic Express, you should see a ST2 Multi in an instrument channell!

If ST2 is installed correctly it should show up in the multi list. Don't know why it wouldn't? Are you using the full version, or LE?? LE is not multi capable. You can only use one instance I believe. Has to be the full version of ST, that came with L or XL...

It is a full version of Logic Express 7. Suppose I get the multi to show up, where would I go from there?

The full version of Sampletank2... not Logic. Sampletank LE is NOT multi-timbral. You need either the L or XL version. Also, I suggest you read your Logic manual. You have to go to the environment and select the Sampletank channels (3-16) as inputs in your auxilary objects. Which of course won't mean diddly to you if you don't know anything about Logic... Like I said, you need either a book on Logic, the manual, or a friend who knows the program... It's pretty confusing if your starting from scratch! Do you have any experience with the program?? Good luck!

I have the full version of SampleTank 2 XL. I admit that my knowlege of Logic is weak at best, but I now DP4 and Pro Tools well so I'm not totally new to this stuff.DHR53 wrote:The full version of Sampletank2... not Logic. Hmmm... well if you used the Logic setup assistant to make your template, you should have like 20 or more instrument channels and audio channels, and it usually gives you 6 aux. channels. In the arrange window, if you hit 3 on your keyboard, it will take you to the environment window, which will show you all your objects. Find the auxillary channels. select the input with the mouse, and you should see the Sampletank instruments channels 3-4, 5-6, etc. (If you've loaded the Sampletank instrument as a multi in the arrange window.) That's it. But like I said, Logic is not a program you can just launch, and start using without some knowledge of it's particular workflow... If you want to keep using it, I would recommend the Apple Pro Logic book, or some of the tutorial CDs...
Merry Christmas!

the reason it isn't there, is because... it isn't there.
they are obviously too incompetant to test 2.1XL with logic (i am using pro 7.1.1).
you have to use sampletank 2.0 if you want the multi out capable isntrument
the multi instrument simply doesn't exist. i've submitted two emails to ikmultimedia, and i posted on here. nobody cares.
if there is a simple fix, nobody bothered telling me about it. certainly not ikmultimedia.
