Yeah, Vocal Forge is a "normal" DVD. It works fine on my DVD reader.

I don't know if this is the problem but if you put the DVD in a CD reader, you cannot (of course) access it and it says that there are 0 bytes used; 0 bytes free on CD.

Just a suggestion, jeffreyjames, but did you actually try your disc in a DVD reader instead of a CD reader?

haha....beat me to it. Sometimes it's the really obvious things we miss.

I remember once I couldn't play a CD of my own stuff in my ghetto blaster, tried it on the HiFi and couldn't play it either. Went back and rerecorded and it still wouldn't play. I nearly got to the stage where I was going to buy a new CD recorder until I discovered I'd somehow managed to record the whole thing with gaps too small inbetween tracks, and no read-in and read-out. In fact no CD Audio standard stuff at all (I don't know how I'd managed to record that way....).


Ever completely rewired a studio because some unit or other doesn't work? Then find you just forgot that the mains multiboard #5 has an on/off switch on it...

Or bought a new PSU for an old Roland synth and then found out you had used a cheap Tandy one that actually worked perfectly well, but had the polarity reversed and set at half the recommended voltage?


Sometimes, one's own stupidity can be really tedious, hehehe.

Yeah, I know how easy it can be to forget the obvious.

I am no computer expert but I do know quite a bit. I enjoy putting computers together, component by component.

One time, I pieced everything together and decided to turn it on, in order to start installing the OS, drivers, apps... Unfortunately nothing happened. I made sure all cables were plugged in and that the power supply was plugged into the wall. Still no power. 2 hours of my time wasted so far - re-checking all connections inside the computer...

I was sure the power supply was blown and was getting ready to purchase a new one online when my brother walked into the room. I briefly mentioned something was wrong with the power supply. He looked on the back of the computer and realized the ON/OFF switch on the PSU was Off. I just plain forgot that the PSU has its own ON switch.

Years ago we were recording in a local studio... really under time pressure as we only had a certain amount of cash. The singer was putting down some backing guitars... plugged in his amp to the mains... turned it on... turned up the volume on the guitar...

And sat there waiting... no sound... nothing

Plugged in a different fx pedals, plugged out all fx pedals, tried a different amp...

It was only as he was going to start taking the guitar apart I asked him if he expected it to make a sound without a lead from the guitar to the amp! We were under so much stress that it was ballachingly funny!!!

Ten years later I STILL take the piss outa him for that!!!
