estimate. specifically music on computer about 6 hours a week. Split between 'making' a sound and a tune.

In my head- constantly. Except when I'm distracted, (note to self: need more distractions)
KvR is a distraction.

I know my tools well, and can turn a blank piece into a song in as short a time as 15 minutes, but my average is a couple of hours til I have a finished piece. Most of the time is spent in the finishing, because I build the mix as I add parts.(instruments and beats determine the total time)

Hi pilot7, only 500? When you've got 13,764 and u know all their names, thatz when u know ur in trouble.. ;)

It takes a major effort for me to finish my tracks because it's fun to just play around with different combos of: instruments, FX, automation, etc, etc and make phrases that are < 16 bars long, but don't actually go anywhere/progess. On the other hand, actually applying form to this madness takes alot of concentration, thought, & skill - it can be mind-numbing getting things to sound JUST RIGHT.

My advice to u is to force urself to finish the track ur on, & not to make anything else till u finish it - Sometimes that's the only way I can finish 'em..

I finished one recently, and it feels sooo good to work on summit new! :)

Not enough; that's for sure. :(

Maybe about 5-6 hours a week, and that on weekends.
During the week, I usually don't have either the time or the motivation because there's too many other things that need my attention.

I have maybe the opposite problem to flippiya and pilot......I finish too many things that should have been abandoned early or never been started.
So...hour or two a day,on average.

why wouldn't I? and I have yet to judge anyones music. just because it's not my genre of choice to play does not take my appreciation away from well produced music or take away my respect for the efforts put forth by artists.

Ah, then you don't mind me asking about your favorites then? Top 3 if you so will.

so the answer is you don't have any music...or are you afraid I will judge you...I can assure you and stake the honor I take pride in that I would not. However to ask me to prove that I listen to rap as a reason to want to hear your music is quite lame. I do not have any favorites, nor do I own any rap cds...however I have listened to many rap songs here and I can learn from any genre, I take pleasure in seeing how other members here express themselves...however I feel no need to qualify that for you...please read my sig, I believe it with all my heart...if you wish to share, then share...if you don't want to share don't...but don't put your reluctance on me...;)
