Drop Outs in ACID [fixed]

I'm using Live Slice v1.3 in ACID Pro 5.0c. The only way I can using it without beats dropping out is to set ASIO at 150ms. I'm using an E-MU 0404 card (Driver version 5.12.01.1102).

The high ASIO setting isn't very useful and I would like to see LiveSlice updated so that the problem of beats dropping out at lower latencies is fixed.

I don't have any of these problems when using DR-008, RMIV, Stylus RMX or any of my other drum synths at lower latencies.

This is a bit of a headache and renders LiveSlice pretty useless in ACID on my system. Please help! :?

seems to be an issue only in acid, as i have no problems with low latencies in ext and live... weird.

This really is a pita. I can't render the loop in ACID because it renders with drop-outs. If I create a great loop I can't save the LiveSlice track as a wav. So I'm stuffed. I'm trying not to regret buying LiveSlice because it's a great concept but it's causing me nothing but frustration. All the work I've put into creating unique loops appears wasted. Why won't it work in ACID? :bang:

don't despair! :) i'm sure that ohm can do something about that, he solved a problem before that only appeared in acid. he seems to take a little vacation so i guess he'll be looking into it next week.

in the meantime i suggest you save the things you did as an .fxb, download the energyXT demo ( http://www.xt-hq.com ) and load LS and the banks in eXT. eXTs only restriction is that you cannot load ext-projects, but you can use the demo to render the loops... and trust me eXT is worth a look anyway. :)

Thanks for your advice and words of encouragement. I'm sure you're right that it will be fixed (if the problem lies with LiveSlice :? ). I own eXT and you're right, it's very useful. My only reservation is that I hoped I wouldn't need to use layers of vsti's to get LiveSlice to work.

I've experimented further and the drop-outs seem to mainly occur when using ASIO drivers in ACID. Only LiveSlice seems to be affected by this so I don't think it's the ASIO implimentation in ACID. Although who knows with Sony?

What would be useful in LiveSlice is an option to save individual tracks as wav files. Then if there are any problems at least the wav file can be used instead of LiveSlice.

This would be a nice feature. With drag n drop, it would be cool to drag a track to the file browser where it automatically saves to a .wav (or MP3?:D).

Using the file browser to save as well as load files is a great idea. Saving to mp3 would also be useful.

I would love to be able to open two (or more) loops in the same window and then pick and choose which chopped up beats to use in a track. Then drag and drop the result to the browser for saving.

Don't worry munchkin I'll have that bug fixed soon - as R.A.W. points out I take any bugreport very seriously. These days I've been taking christmas very seriously too though :) but it will be fixed in the next update - it will make it easier if you give me your email address, so I can send you test versions because I think my ACID demo might have expired. Just send it in a PM.

The track export idea is already on my list. Drag'n'drop is a good idea for the implementation, and it probably won't be too far out in the future.

Hope you enjoyed xmas - new years celebrations yet to come!

Thanks for trying to sort this out. I've pm'd you my email address.

I'll try to look at it before new years - too much  might interfere with the debugging efficiency :-)

Problem fixed - still the solution is not ideal as ACID has some holes and inconsistensies in it's VST host. I've contacted the developers, and hope for a better solution. Muchkin already confirmed that the current "hack" works though, so far so good :-)
