i'm low on ram and my sequencer does not support multitimbral instruments.
if i load multiple instances of ds404, does it need lots of ram for each instance?
or doesn't it need much ram in general?
or do all vsti's share ressources generally?
does ds-404 share ressources?

In short, yes (and SR202 also). The first instance loaded generates all the big tables of data and shares them with any subsequently loaded instances, saving you 10-12mb of RAM each time.
