Hi all,
I've purchased AmpliTube, installed (while installing, chose the option of VST to use with Cubase) but when I launch Cubase, the Authorization process does not happen and nothing shown up under Cubase' VST Intruments. (Althought that when I check under Plugins Information, AmpliTube does shown up.) Prior to install AmpliTube, I've installed SampleTank 2 Free, and I heard that they sometimes have conflicts with AmpliTube... I've uninstalled Amplitube, deleted all directories and reinstalled but without luck... Any ideas???

Thank you all,
Kenny.

Hmmm, don't know exactly, but I once had a plugin that didn't want to work in Cubase and someone adviced to delete (make a backup first just in case) a file called "VST Plugins.xml" in C:\Documents and Settings\*USER NAME*\Application Data\Steinberg\Cubase SX 3

Might be worth a try? I own both Amplitube and SampleTank and I've never had any touble with those though... Hope you get it working.

Hi DotNoir,
Thanks for the info., I've deleted VST Plugns.xml and re-launch Cubase but AmpliTube authorization process still does not appears. Uninstalled SampleTank 2 Free does not help, either... :( Any other solutions???

Thank you,
Kenny.

Did you download the latest from the user area at www.ikmultimedia.com ? I really don't know other solutions, sorry :/

I can't get to the User area because the product have not registered... When I try to register, they need the Digital ID from the Authorization window that supposed to appear when I launch Cubase... So I'm stuck... Anyway, thanks for your efforts, DotNoir.

In fact you can leave the digital ID blank and get the authorization later. That's what I've done.

I don't know about amplitube, but some vsts have a separate registration tool that you have to run from the vst-program folder... maybe worth a shot.. ?

I'll try again... snarespanker, under vst program folder, there isn't anything to run standalone, only the .dll files.

Thanks all,
Kenny.

You're having a rough time over there, eh? I know the feeling.

I'll bet that it installed into a stupid directory like C:\program files\vstplugins or something. Try cutting and pasting the exact destination you want it to go to during installation. Probably obvious, just a thought.

Sorry if I wasn't clear :) I didn't mean the vst folder, but the folder (the rest of?) Amplitube may be installed in. Many vstis install not only in the vst folder, but also in a separate program folder..

AmpliTube finally worked... I don't know what I did, either :) Downloaded the latest version, reinstalled and still doesn't shown up... Reinstalled Cubase and then re-installed again, it work now! Anyway, this was a gift from a bandmate as x-mas gift, so I'm not really familiar with it... It *seems* like I can use a clean guitar patch (I haven't bought RealGuitar yet, but I really like their demos) and run through AmpliTube to creat a killer distortion electric guitar, is this the main function of AmpliTube???

Thanks,
Kenny.

The main function is to simulate a real guitar amplifier for real guitars. You could run a sampled guitar through it, but that's not its main purpose.

Thanks bduffy... I'm not a guitar player (I play sax and key), I was playing with AmpliTube today, using a Spanish Guitar patch from an VST instrument and run through the AmpliTube effects, turns out to be some very nice lead distortion guitar (not quite as good, but okay).
