I recently switched from using an M-Audio Quattro to a Presonus Firebox. Unfortunately, after doing this, I have been unable to playback any files that I have opened and instead receive this message on every try:
Error while opening sound device. Please check the output device settings and the project sample rate.
I've set the Firebox as my soundcard in the Audio I/O preferences menu and have tried changing the project sample rate numerous times. No dice.
Right now, I'm running Audacity 1.2.4b on OSX 10.4.3.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks.
P.S. I also own Peak and I do most of my audio editing within it, but I like some of the effects in Audacity (specifically Change Speed, Change Pitch and Change Tempo).

Try the following: Control Panel - Audio (or sounds... I have a Dutch version of Windows so my translation is a guess) and change the default Windows sound device to be the Presonus instead of the now removed M-Audio.
My MusicCalc is temporary offline.

I'm using a Mac, but they have a similar option. I'll try that out. I haven't fully removed all of the components for my Quattro yet, so it may be causing a conflict. Thanks for the heads up.C00kie wrote:Try the following: Control Panel - Audio (or sounds...
