Damn. Raven's one of those guys I remember from way back when, when I first found this place. Always a decent bloke.

Dream on, mate...

Awful news. Raven was a rock around here. Totally unflappable, and highly knowledgable on many musical subjects. Respect, RIP, and condolences to his friends and family.

I feel a bit out of place responding to a thread like this. Often I tend to lurk or if someone says something I agree with I don't bother posting more of the same etc. Being a bit fly by night in the nature of my kvr activities I don't suspect many people notice those of us out on the outer fringe either.
It's hard sometimes to realise that there are living breathing people responding to the threads [except when we're ignoring the trolling and other things] and often I guess we don't entirely appreciate the answers or responses or what people on here give freely when they respond or notice how proactive members here can be - they sure as hell don't have to if they don't want to. I'd say from reading quite a few of Raven's posts over time he was one of those guys who did give a lot quite freely and tried to be genuinely helpful - which is quite inspiring given the way many threads on internet boards tend to go and how disillusioning the internet can be. It's these sorts of people that make KVR live, tick and make it more than just a website. I can't say I knew the man personally or exchanged emails or anything else - I'd be making those things up, but I believe I can say the aforementioned quite comfortably in the knowledge that I feel that they are true and appropriate.
So rest in peace Mr Raven.
