does one of you know a (good) freeware batch converting tool for samples?
Perhaps with samplerate conversion?

Try r8brain from www.voxengo.com . I think the new Audacity beta from http://audacity.sourceforge.net also has batch processing.

Awave Studio does a good job of this. It's not free but they have a free demo version that I think you can use for 30 days. It's well worth buying if you do this kind of stuff often.
