The instrument forum has 2 topics fuer "Best free VST Instrument of the Year 2005".
What's you opinion for best free VST/FX ?

I'm starting here with my vote for
PLParEQ3 and CLAS

From their website info, this only runs as a demo for 30 days, then it's $1000. Not exactly freeware!

So far (released this year only)i'd say posihfopit, there are still kinks to be ironed out in it - but it seems like a very nice eq to me.
Having said that i've had a little play with the free version of CLAS & am very impressed & have yet to try the new arcdev effect - I always like arcdev stuff.

It IS freeware, although you have to request it by E-Mail or donate. Only these 2 are freeware, others have demo limitation of 30 days.

CLAS

CLAS (Compressive Loudness Audio Shaping) is a tool that provides both progressive phase compensation for bass frequencies, and psychoacoustic bass and/or treble enhancement. We use CLAS most often when listening to track edits on the master channel, purely for our pleasure.

Only played with it a little - but believe me I appreciate everything ARcdev has done, just got in from work & the first thing I did was download Blittr
