ooh yeah - was that released this year, damn what a little beauty.

Does it have to be something that was released in 05?

I still think ElottronixXL http://www.kvraudio.com/get/673.html
is the coolest thing ever. I wish I could make a mini-itx box that just had this effect, seriously.

Though it was already said, I'm voting for boogex. I get a ton of use out of it and it can do cool stuff on so many things other than guitars as well.

What's you opinion for best free VST/FX ?

I'm starting here with my vote for
PLParEQ3 and CLAS

I can't remember all of what actually came out this year of the stuff I use.

The winner has to be Devine Machine Minion for me, it is simply massive.

Runners up I wouldn't go without:
Voxengo Boogex
Audio Damage Fuzz+2
TinyGod TinyFX
BetaBugs Audio PhaseBug
TbT Saturated Driver
audio da onca posihfopit
buzzroom BuzMaxi3
Refined Audiometrics PLParEQ3
Jackle&Hyde Omnivox
Devine Machine 8bitshaper (and Cheapshift. I say Steve Duda for VST president!)

And special honours of course to KarmaFX Synth, which is both an instrument and effect (and got my vote for free VSTi already).

[edit]And a special honourable mention to GVST GSnap. I don't have a major call to use it often, but hats off to Graham for making the first freeware auto-tune plugin.

didn't find any to grab me to me, but CLAS has sure interesting sound to it.

PLParEQ3
Juicy77 (The sustain and power is unbelievable)
Gvst GComp (I like the RMS/Peak adjustable compression)
Chorus CH-2 (I just love it)
BuzzComp3 (I am no multiband genius but this one works really well for me)

The difficult thing was to know if it actually was this year some of these stuff were released. If I come up with more products then I will add them to make all the deserving developers credit!
