I aquired an ASR10 keyboard. No manual, couple of OS disks, one piano sample disk.....but hey, the price was WAY right.

So anybody know where I can find the original sample disks that came w/ the keyboard somewhere (assuming there were any)?

What several-hundred-dollar-frickin sample disk should I buy and from what company for a generic batch of sounds?

Anybody know of free sample sites that are worth a hoot?

How many pecks in a bushel?

Thanks.

Rubber Chicken sells lots of specific ASR-10 sounds, we offer about 8 or so CD's as well as many floppy paks.

You may also consider Translator, to convert any format into Ensoniq format - see www.chickensys.com for both products. (Currently it's down, but we are getting it back up.

And an ass wouldn't have posted a helpful link, which was a bit more worthwhile than your stunning contribution to the thread.

LoveSign,
I googled before posting, which:
A) didn't help me find the original ASR10 samples that came with the keyboard if there were any (question 1).
B) lead me to oodles of multi-hundred-dollar options (question 2) that I wanted some suggestion on.
C) lead me to oodles of exchange sites to which I didn't want to join unless (question 3) they were "worth a hoot"

RapRogue: thanks, I went there. Lots of broken links; in fairness I didn't investigate every single link, but I will.

Bro.Miles: thanks, based on your suggestion I went ahead and joined their site. Seems like the file links are broken, but I'll persist.

chikeneps: Looking forward to the site coming up; I might be your next customer.....you PROMISE I'll be mostly happy w/ the purchase? ;)

LimitAproach:
Thats what I like about this site. Most people don't respond generally; instead its usually specific or includes a link or 2. I guess if I'd taken the time to include the fact that the questions I had RESULTED from the googling I did I'd have avoided LoveSign's sarcasm & your subsequent entaglement. But thanks just the same.

Still unclear on how many pecks in a bushel...I digress.

A little clarity always helps :) I guess my "British" sense of humour doesn't always go down too well.

As for pecks in a bushel, I consulted my good friend Mr Google again and came up with this...

Ironic; I'm a pretty sarcastic Bas***d myself. I missed the humor.
