ACID info on ProSamples CDs

probably a silly question . . .

I have just bought some ProSamples CDs. The card inserts say that the wav files are ACIDized. (one of the CDs is #14 - World Grooves from Festa Latina))

But when I load them (or look at them with an editor) I cannot see any ACID info (slice positions etc). If I set my own slices then save the sample then I can see the ACID info.

Can someone tell me where I am going wrong? Or where should I be looking?

----I wouldn't be surprised if having the correct tempo is all you get for "Acidizing" from them. I have a lot of different "Acidized" loop sample cds, and most of them fall short of 100% Acidization. I feel lucky if I get a loop sample cd with the right tempo info, and a guess at the key included, even from big companies.

You won't see the slice info in ‘regular’ audio editors. Best off using BeatCreator if you're not already doing so…

It's pretty disapointing that sample providers claim to be producing ACIDised files without including proper slice markers and the rest.

ACID performs so much better when time-stretching a file that contains carefully placed markers (especially when using the new groove quantising functions.)

Thanks for the thread. I only had my first ACID after Dec 11, so I missed it before.
Indeed I notice too that many *ACIDized* samples are not recognized by e.g. SoundForge as being in the ACID format .

OTOH for most drum loops almost any loop-based package will probably get the tempo and the slices right.

----You can check in either Acid, or Soundforge, look at the properties, if no key is set, then it isn't Acidized for pitch. The good news is, you can set it yourself, and resave it, but I always feel cheated when they aren't done for me if they say they are Acidized.
