Cool. I am glad to share this stuff. The rig for the '94 concert was all real hardware, no samples (except for the sfx). It was:

CP70 Electric Grand (even though Tony didn't use one until after the Lamb tour, I just liked the sound so that probably gave it a hybrid late 70's/mid 70's somewhat updated sound).

RMI Electric Piano (more like an organ though the way TB used it)

Arp Prosoloist
Mellotron (actually it was Kevin's Novatron... same thing. This one was a rare one built into a flight case).
Hammond C3 (this was from Kevin's studio and I think it belonged to Keith Emerson. Tony used a smaller Hammond and I noticed that the C3 made the ProSoloist a lot further away to reach! So it was even HARDER to do than the real rig... nice! But, the C3 sounds so good... better than the old 102).

As for the recent thing I am messing with, that's a real ProSoloist played over Sonik Synth 2 doing all of the rest of the instrumentation (Ricky 4001 sample with the AmpliTube effects inside the ST engine, RMI through phaser, tron choir- cheated layer... TB doesn't have 3 hands hehe and the intro pianos are another layer of an antique upright and then a CP70).

I went ahead and fixed a few flubs that were annoying me in the jam piece. I'll post it here in a bit. I am exporting it now. It has a whole intro section that is just piano and flute (actually tron flute but I was going to go for a more Gabriel-played flute except the tron flute seemed to work and had a real early 70's vibe because I ran it through the spring reverb and panning delay in SS2.) It does flow better hearing the actual original jam. It is still not composed as it could be (especially with regard to structure). Also, I have a constant track of drums running underneath (Nick was actually playing Wot Gorilla). It is in 7/8. That technically could follow the music more if I spent some time with it (plus change it up a little). But, you know, this is just for fun! So, it really doesn't matter. Work in progress (in progness ;) ).

Oh, yes it was a thrill to play with Jon. Absolutely! Wait to you see what we're doing this year. It is both IK and SR's 10th anniversary so... Hmmmmmm. ;)

Okay, here is the full version of the long lost Genesis-esque jam. ;) Enjoy! Warts n' all. http://www.sonicreality.com/squidscorne ... idsjam.mp3

It is 7 and a half minutes of wankchops and 10megs so... be warned!

This is very nice, Dave. Sonic Synth continues to surprise me even after a year I own it, there's really a lot of material to discover in it.

Ha ha, I'm another Genesis fan waking from my unquiet slumber :)

I shall await more info on Nick's drum library with great interest - I've always wanted some prog-style drum tracks/loops...

Did I hear someone type Genesis?
I've probably said it before here, but the early Genesis were superb. I first heard them on a Decca lp in (I believe) 1970. It was called The World of Progressive Music. They had a series doing World of Comedy/Classical etc.
Anyway, Genesis had a track from their first lp. Didn't like the track but when I saw them getting some reviews in the music press, took more of an interest.
The lp also had Johnny Almond, William R Strickland, Moody Blues and I think Savoy Brown.

Their was talk a couple of months ago about a reunion (with Peter). A meeting was held in London with all the former members (well, the members that are mostly known), but what came about was a press statement saying their were no plans for a reunion in 2006.
So, of course the diehard fans were saying it may come about in 2007!
Other fans were saying that the meeting also covered releasing some live stuff that's been archived for ages.
Time will tell.
Anyway - gotta go - Supper's Ready.

Sounds really cool, squids. Sound like mid 70s? Aha, that explains why I felt like 10 when listening to it. :)

Isn't it strange that some of us old fans still view Peter as the "real" singer of Genesis...

For the next big update to Sonik Synth I will organize the patches a bit differently so those sounds can be found easier, and I will do a "Tony" bank. ;)
