Good point. Thanks!

I bet he'd play a mean bluegrass tune, though.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... d=33380799 is a pretty good intro. I like their latest album 'Lateralus' best.

Yeah definately give lateralus a listen, it is kinda 'prog' (or at least prog influenced) & i'm personally not a fan of most proggie stuff - but tool I can sit & listen to.
They have the odd bit of screaming & real heavy guitar shit in, which our lass doesn't normally like - but she'll sit & listen to them.
Even my daughter likes 'em.
A lot of their tunes have non-obvious time signatures, haunting qualities, evolve & that maynard geezer has an inimitable style of delivery.
I'd love for a hip hop group to appraoch their art in a similar way & see what happens.
The lateralus album is also very well mastered, very dynamic etc. etc.
I like tool (obviously).

Alright, here's my next attempt to end this stupid topic. Tool by definition is something that makes life easier. The article is saying that tools ONLY make life easier, but using lesser tools can get the same result, just in a more difficult way. This is true, but it's also a given. It's like saying "if you spend your money you will have less money", that's how "GIVEN" it is.

So basically the article is saying "you don't need to make life easier to create great things" which is a pretty stupid thing to say, it's like saying the development of science and technology is pointless.

UHHH!!! LETS SEE... EVERY MUSICIAN HERE BENEFITS FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY!!! UHHH HELLOOOO???

Sure did. I'm playing nothing but idioglottal clarinet from now on.
