FL6 is Extremely Frustrating

It's odd that some users (such as myself) are having NO problems. I run FL5 projects without problems in FL6. No errors, no crashes. I've done A/B comparisons and FL5/FL6 have the same CPU usage on my setup. I did less than one minute of tweaking.

Yeah I've had no problems either once the sound was configured properly. The CPU handling seems better, doesn't freeze the screen when the CPU is high and what's better is I can actually render tracks at any resolution without it getting stuck or spontaneously quitting!
I do wonder though about the prog becoming bloated with extraneous fancy toys that are not that useful, harming the stability and performance of the things which are most important, and it seems every new version has to have a few more bells and whistles just to get peoples' attention thus diluting what was great about the program already

yeah I had problems with vsampler but .04 fixed it...
Lately I have been taking older flps and chnaging the drums to the way I have DFH superior mapped out...not a problem...but again, let me stress , I use direct monitor on my soundcard for audio (I do not have midi latency) and my buffers are as larges as the go. But I don't have any games installed (except chessmaster), I have mostly audio apps...crahses ar still never an isuue..I hope chase gets it sorted soon....

oh btw I remove the junk...ie, cool stuff tunes...packs..anything I dont use and I mostly use DFH (always) Vasampler (always) B4 (most songs) then a snyth once in a while and maybe up to 4 sudio clips...and often zero automation..so I dont push it hard.

FL6 is the best thing since sliced bread.
Likely, If you are having problems, you are using crap drivers or crap vsts (likely)
or
if you cant see the improvements, then you are not loooking hard enough

That's an amazing form of logic you apply to resolve peoples problems. I kid you not, you'd go a long way in the customer services field (especially with Apple corp.)Jason Brian Merrill wrote:FL6 is the best thing since sliced bread.

Ive been having my share of problems with V6 as well. But only one serious issue, related to a specific VSTI.
Why not just continue using 5.02C until they get it all sorted?

I think chases problem is Atypical and this isn't completely fair Jason, I agree with you as towards most people but chase has a strange issue going on and I can relate to how frustrating it is.Jason Brian Merrill wrote:FL6 is the best thing since sliced bread.

To give my friend chase a little comfort, I'm sure it will be fixed soon...enough people are trying to figure it out, and people who know what they are doing...probably FL exposed a problem that was already there and it would of happened with something else...it's hard I know, but be patient.
When I git AVOX with ilok I had real strange problems coding the key. The software to install the codes wouldn't install...I would get an error message "the install was interrupted before it could finish, no changes were made"
Finally my friend at antares said send me the key and I'll code it. While it was gone (the ilok) I got the same error message with two other apps, and those were the only time it happened. When the ilok came back everything was fine and the other programs installed as did the program to code the key.
I think that many of us use 1 computer for everything, thus we are all so different that there are so many variables that it's hard to "clear" everything...some issues are bound to arise...hang in there chase...

I never thought of that. Hink, does it improve if you remove FL's samples and all that?

Throughout all of this, the FL folks will continue to maintain that their very limited secret beta program is sufficient, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.Hink wrote:I think chases problem is Atypical and this isn't completely fair Jason, I agree with you as towards most people but chase has a strange issue going on and I can relate to how frustrating it is.Jason Brian Merrill wrote:FL6 is the best thing since sliced bread.

They could have avoided some of their perception issues by making daily or weekly builds available to registered users, instead of a secret testing cycle known only to a very few elites -- who clearly never tested certain common configs. To add insult to injury, they saw fit to arrange a retail brick&mortar distribution before they even allowed a *digital* download. It has harmed their reputation, and they remain in denial about it.

Blah blah blah blah.
As the userbase grows, so does the amount of critics, whiners and complainers.
Can't please everyone all of the time.

It's important to keep your existing customers satisfied. It cost a lot to get them in the first place. Costs nothing to lose them, and takes much less time.Penis Arcade wrote:Blah blah blah blah.

I don't disagree...you notice that a one time fixture at FL "Hink" now hasn't been an active member of the FL community since last January...some of the reasons lie with the staff and some of the reasons lies with the children that are on the forum..FL at it's price is more and more appealing to children and parents buying for children...face it "Dad, will you buy me Sonar at 700 bux, I want to try and make music?" Will probably be followed up by "why dont we try this one at 150 dollars, if you stick with it then we'll talk". At least as a parent that has been my experience, kids don't stick with things...so the forum is full of children, which isn't bad..it's great that more and more youngsters are getting into music...however their childish (not all) behavior is too much for me...I have kids, grandkids...if I want child like behavior I don't need to look far...james0tucson wrote:Throughout all of this, the FL folks will continue to maintain that their very limited secret beta program is sufficient, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.Hink wrote:I think chases problem is Atypical and this isn't completely fair Jason, I agree with you as towards most people but chase has a strange issue going on and I can relate to how frustrating it is.Jason Brian Merrill wrote:FL6 is the best thing since sliced bread.

But I am saying that Chases problem is not common and it sucks....but many people are happy...also many people like me believe that FL is really a drum machine with extra features, @150 bux you do get your money's worth.
When someone is looking for help because they are having troubles will someone explain to me why instead of trying to help like many have that it's an open invitation to a free for all against that company?
I still like FL, I think the delayed release was as you say, I think that FL is going to have to come up with more tricks to stay in business. But this thread is about helping Chase not attacking FL...
