on a more sing song recommendation, jack johnson, in between dreams is very good and i was very suprised at the new notorious big album i bought for my girlfriend.

I think Arcade Fire and Out Hud were very singalongable. Not sure if those albums were from '05, though.

i was gonna say 'Funeral' from the Arcade Fire as well. Probably my favorite CD I bought last year. However it was pointed out to me that it was originally released in '04.
Additionally, it sounds like it could have been recorded in the late 70's or early 80's, so it sort of goes against one of the requirements in this thread. Regardless, it's an absolutely wonderful album.
I have some bootleg recordings of Bowie singing backups with them at some live show, it's brilliant
