1. keep using FL5 that works for you
2. encourage the plugin devs to support OLE drag/drop (that's a standard since windows 3.1 I believe)

I don't want to keep using old things just for compatibility with plugins. If you do, then you can keep using old things (FL5).
OLE has been around since 1990 so ......

If the plugin doesn't support it, theres gotta be something wrong there :hihi:

And really, I can't imagine that you're dragging and dropping in BFD so often that it becomes a bottleneck in your workflow.

The improvements in FL6 should balance it out .. playlist slicing is a godsend when recording with a MIDI controller :)

Since I don't use BFD, I'm wondering what gets dragged and dropped so much in it. I assume some kind of pattern sequencer?

Funnily enough "compatibility with plugins" is quite important to me when using a host.

I agree, but what about plugin compatibility with hosts? To resume the situation, FL6 uses something new, and the plugin you use uses something old. Instead of asking your plugin dev to uptate to something new, you ask me to get back to something old.
why not use both?

I'll look into seeing what we have to do, but #^%@$ FL should support both, as a host. Especially if BFD is using the "standard" windows DnD method - you'd think a lot of other apps would now be non-drag-n-dropable into FL6.
