Hi!

I'm looking for some songs with melodies primarly made with strings or even better if strings are the only instruments.

Mostly orchestral type strings, movie type strings like those that you hear in older movies.

Any help appreciated!

I'd recommend Sinatra's (or just about any contemporary pop-singer's) stuff, lots and lots of strings there (plus other orchestral instruments) and they sound soooo lovely. Of course the strings aren't exactly the primary instrument here (well, duh...) but they usually do play some really nice melodies.

um
most of classical music was used in old movies because there wasn't a copyright issue.(talking pre-20th century jive)

I got all my classical music training from Warner Brothers cartoons!

and the Chopin was very nice!
Mendolsen was over-used as well!

Bit of googling:

Thanks!

I don't think classical music is what I'm looking for.

Even tho it might be nice as well.

I'll definitely (re)check some Sinatra.
I'm more looking for 20. century music. Some more emotional stuff, 50s-70s. Like, I know there was a nice romantic tune or two in Spartacus ('60). I wouldn't say it was a classical song.

A lot of pop song in the 60s had some strings I think.
