Sampletank LE versus L versus XL

Is there a feature matrix available somewhere listing the differences between the different SampleTank products (LE, L, XL)? Obviously the XL products have more stuff, given the price differences, but what are the specific differences between them all?

a little addition fotr clarity.Kim (esoundz) wrote: LE is a "light" version of SampleTank2 that comes with the Expansion Tanks (and Sonic Reality's Sonic Capsules)...

LE is not sold as a separate product, it's only sold together with sample collections, like the
Symphony Strings Expansion Tank

An excellent ptoduct, btw.
Great selection of string sounds that do a nice job for contemporary music.
It's cool to have a variety of strings.

OK, thanks. I just wanted to know if the L and XL had different feature sets, but it seems that the feature set difference only appears between the LE and L/XL products. Cool. I think spending the extra $100 on the XL product is worth getting 10 times the number of sounds.Kim (esoundz) wrote:L and XL share the same engine - they only differ by the size of the included sound library.
LE is a "light" version of SampleTank2 that comes with the Expansion Tanks (and Sonic Reality's Sonic Capsules). It has fewer editing controls, but has the same engine underneath.

In version 2.0, ST2L had 4 CDs with samples and XL had 8 CDs.
I don't believe the factor for version 2.1 is 10 times - I assume it's like for the 2.0 version, which would be double comtent. Nevertheless it's worth the extra $100

I was exaggerating in the tradition of Holden Caulfield.telebunke wrote: In version 2.0, ST2L had 4 CDs with samples and XL had 8 CDs.

SampleTank LE 2 has only one stereo bus (Outputs 1 and 2) whereas the other versions give you 4 or 8 buses; am I right?
Also, you can't run multiple instantiations of LE. Only one at a time, with 16 MIDI channels

Yeah, LE wouldn't suit my needs, I don't think. I will probably go ahead and get ST XL2 at some point the hopefully near future.wheatwilliams wrote:SampleTank LE 2 has only one stereo bus (Outputs 1 and 2) whereas the other versions give you 4 or 8 buses; am I right?
