That line from Prince of Darkness (cheesy John Carptenter flic) where Alice Cooper's character (standing outside the building) says in that wierd gurgly voice... Something like:

"Attention... I have a message for you... And you're not going to like it..."

I thought that was kinda creepy in an atmospheric way...

(cool idea for a sample pack btw)

OOOOPS! Just read your partial list Sickle... My bad... It's already there...

vurt wrote:is it they live with the broadcast from the future/devil ?
if it is, that broadcast
Yeah... that's from Prince of Darkness too I think... Where they are transmitting that message from the future into the people's dreams... That was pretty creepy as well...

Constantine with keanu reeves

Plenty of heaven/hell demon/angel type of dialogue. Can't exactly remember but maybe some good sounds of "Hell" when he takes his "trips" there.

Post

Re-Animator - "You killed him!"
"No, I did not. I gave him life."

Rigor Mortis sampled it on their first album. :)

The Fog - John Houseman's speech at the beginning.

Silence of the Lambs - "It puts the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose."

"Oh, wait. Was she a big fat person?"
(This is more for the tone of Buffalo Bill's voice that what he says.)

The Shining - "I don't want to hurt you. I just want to bash your brains in."

Abominable Dr. Phibes:

House on Haunted Hill:

The Tingler:

"Ladies and gentlemen, please do not panic! But SCREAM! Scream for your lives!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, just a word of warning. If any of you are not convinced that you have a tingler of your own, the next time you're frightened in the dark... don't scream."

Edward Scissorhands:

"Why are you hiding back there? You don't have to hide from me - I'm Peg Boggs, your local Avon representative and I'm as harmless as cherry pie..."
"Oh - I can see that I've disturbed you. I'll just be going now..."
"Don't go."
"Oh, my. What happened to you?"
"I'm not finished."

"Will he be OK, Doc?
"The years spent in isolation have not equipped him with the tools necessary to judge right from wrong. He's had no context. He's been completely without guidance. Furthermore, his work - the garden sculptures, hairstyles and so forth - indicate that he's a highly imaginative... uh... character. It seems clear that his awareness of what we call reality is radically underdeveloped."
"But will he be all right out there?"
"Oh yeah, he'll be fine."

Beetlejuice:

"What are your qualifications?"
"Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I'm qualified?"

"Lydia, I have a chance to teach you something here. You have got to take the upper hand in all situations or people, whether they're dead or alive, will walk all over you."

"They don't want to come down."
"Why not?"
"I think the reason is that they were trying to scare you away, and you didn't get scared."
"Please, they're dead. It's a little late to be neurotic."

Sickle wrote:Hey, Rabban, do you still have access to the INvasion of the Body Snatchers? Can you rip me some samples?
I just finished watching the movie on TV, so I cannot rip the samples. I will see if I can buy a cheap copy on DVD. I am surprised I do not own it on DVD yet.

Am just about to watch a John Carpenter marathon on TV - The Thing, Prince of Darkness and In the Mouth of Madness! Woohoo!! There's some golden samples in this combination.

O.k. had to go watch constantine after thinkin bout it.

Here are some excerpts....

"Close your eyes, and whatever you do, don't look."

"Bless me father, for I have sinned. It's been two weeks since my last confession. I killed a man today, another one. I din't even see his face, I just, pulled the trigger and he went away."

conversation between gabriel and constantine

"We're born capable of terrible things, but sometimes, something comes along and gives us just the right nudge."

when he explains his "gift" to whatever her name is.

Lots and lots more....

Check yer FTP!

All good suggestions so far, but keep in mind, we're after the lines that compound the sense of dread, not ironies like silly attempts to fuse horror and comedy..

For example:

Good = The suicide speech from Damian's first nanny at the party, and damn near anything that David Warner says..

Bad + Dead or Alive "I kick ass for the Lord!"

I want the dark shit..no funny shtuff..

I have KVR for that already.

:hihi:

Anyways, head back to that FTP folder and check wot's in there..You may like what you see, and I have a few other goodies to stick in there.

Well, there's not much that can be done about some of that. It depends on the DVD's sound quality. Specially dicey with older films. I used a DVD Audio Ripping app so there was no noise added by the system.

Some of the sounds I ripped were pretty low in the mix so when they got normalized the noise floor got kinda heavy. Personally I think the noise sometimes adds a bit of character... depending on the sounds involved.
