Esxcellent, thanks! I'm at work now, so I can't download much, but I'll catch everyone else that's posted as I go, so don't think I've overlooked anyone..
Cheers,

all of mine are public domain, I know you wanted illegal, but it's the best I could do on such short notice.

It's not that I wanted 'illegal' per se, I just want to get samples of stuff that fit into what I'd consider an archetype, or urban legend, ie, samples that most people would recognize right off the bat..circuitbentpirate wrote:all of mine are public domain, I know you wanted illegal, but it's the best I could do on such short notice.
Once I make these available, it will be up to whoever uses them to sort out licensing issues.
This includes myself.

i'm new to this thread, so forgive me if these have already been mentioned. off the top of my head:
- the close to one minute long scream when a possessed guy gets stabbed about 2/3 way through evil dead (original)
- the sound of the wind that is present throughout evil dead
- the opening music/fx for alien (original)
- the heartbeat bass line from the thing (carpenter)
- the assymetrical piano melody to the exorcist
- many of the vocal sounds from the exorcist
- the entire soundtrack to liquid sky
- the opening dies irae from the shining
- psycho shower scene music
- the sound of the birds in the birds
lots more where that came from. :-)

those samples should be named fairly well, there is a list somewhere on KVR of what they are.
The ones from night of the living dead, and Maniac, would be most recognizable.

We'll see how legal eagle we are when we use these samplers in our tracks, eh, Johhny?

Hmm..Unless there's been MASSIVE improvements in Reaktor 5 that I'm unaware of, we might need a crowbar to cram an entire film score into Reaktor's sample loader..rachmiel wrote:- the entire soundtrack to liquid sky

isn't one of the perks of being "under the radar" (i.e., not distributed by a major-ish label) that one can get away with slipping in samples, doing plunderphonics, etc.? who's going to bother tracking down and prosecuting someone who's not making any money from their music?

i thought it was the other way round?
one of the benefits of being a nobody and getting caught sampling and taken to court was good publicity
