There's definitely a giant gap in the market for something that does the job really well
Yep, the guitar plugins are awesome for lots of stuff but this thread has evolved into producing riffs which go beyond what the plugins can do. I think the only way to convince people is to just post some of my work. I used to play guitar for Paradox (toured with Barren Cross in '88 ) and altogether have about 30 yrs under my belt so surely i can aquire some clientel for those 'more complicated' guitar parts needed by the composer. I'll also offer compositional help and even backing vocals. Let me finish coding my "vitual web musician" site and i'll come back to post it's url.
Thanx again..

Heck, just use ReFX Slayer or AAS String Studio. Either of these should be able to pull off decent guitar riffs without having to use any samples or loops. Much better for expressivity too as you can change lots of parameters on the fly for realistic guitar sound. Nothing comes close, and these two products (I'm sure there are others out there) put most samples to shame when it comes to expression.

Yeah you're right for the most part benjamind. Most 'trendy' music today doesn't really call for ultra complicated riffs similar to guitarists like say Alan Holesworth, Steve Morse, Jason Becker, etc, but if someone out there DOES want some of this type stuff in their compositions i'll be here ;).

I would definitely be interested in a guitar sample set, especially if it's in multiple formats (Kontakt, Giga, Halion, etc.) What I'd like to do is use the samples for writing and have a real guitarist play the music at a later point. Also, it's nice to hear from someone who knows about Vinnie Moore, Allan Holdsworth, etc. I plan on writing material along those lines later this year. 8)

Hi cyanogen,
As of lately i've decided to just take orders for whatever leads/riffs are wanted. I think i'ld make more money being a "virtual studio musician" than creating massive sample libraries. As you mentioned, you can create your riff using guitar samples or software, sending it to me via email; or email me a tab file (many use the freeware app Power Tab). I'll match the riff you've written, send it back to you to check out, then send you the HQ wav file at 24/96 or 16/44. I'm presently building a website so clients and i can work better together, hear my work, choose the style amp/sound they want, etc.
I'll let everyone know when the site's finished.
