I have 3 recordings on vinyl. the 2 studio ones are half and half like you said, the live recording is all 12-string, and it's phenomenal.

the only live version i've seen/heard is "the song remains the same" when page plays his double neck...i've heard some of the more recent live releases on the radio and seen only a bit from the dvd, reminds me i need to get that damn thing, that stuff rocks (ot a bit but "communication breakdown" is friggen balls out r&r)
