Thank you ;) Now I just have to get some money to return the favour :)
A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

I agree, the lack of a foot controller really sucks on that Stomp. GR2 controller looks the better choice, unfortunately I like AT sounds better. Also I want to know what happened to the AT2 interface graphics. Is this what the delay is about?Amps look better, stomp boxes look worse. My theory is that it looked too much like the real thing before (fuzzface, tubescreamer etc.) and they got sued by Ibanez or MXR.

Just my conspiracy theory

Happy AT2!

Let's see. I have a feeling it will be shipping sometime soon. I don't want to say this month but I will confirm when I have more info.

As to the graphic interface, all I can say is that it is a delicate balance. Better to hint at the original for a variety of reasons than to look just like it. Obviously Ampeg SVX looks just like Ampeg amps and effects but that is being done with Ampeg so it would! Oh, keep your eye out for more info on that! Wait until you see/hear that one! Nammmmmmm.

The lack of a expression pedal on AT Stomp I/O is not a bad thing at all. Rather than having a cheap one on there like some companies do, AT Stomp I/O has SIX inputs for as high quality as you want to use! Granted that costs more but you can DO more! 6 expression pedals??? That is freakin' AWESOME! I am going to get do that set up (and use this for keyboards as well as guitar).

squids,
I have a Roland FC100MkII foot controller and EV5 expression pedal (been in the closet for years), would I be able to use either of these with AT2?

I think so. Don't know for sure yet.

Latest AT2 shipping guess is either end of this month or early February. Release version should be at the show. Not official news but something....

I wonder how much the Stomp I/O will be......

The only real downside to not having the expression pedal built into it, is that most (if not all, correct me if I'm wrong) expression pedals, don't have an on/off switch under neath the rocker that could turn a wah on or off, for example. This means you'd need to set up a patch with wah on, and one with wah off and change presets to use the wah as opposed to just clicking on.

BTW Squids, I'm down for AT2 after I heard the clips, and I think I'll be making that purchase on Saturday.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

So, is there a date set yet? Is AT2 still slated for this month?

I know they said that AT2 would ship in February, but did they say what year? :)

KvR News 23rd January 2005:

AmpliTube 2 is expected to be released in the spring of 2005. MSRP will be $/Euro 399 and will be available exclusively from IK Multimedia and its distributor and dealer network worldwide.

Seems like a waste of money but I am sure the marketing gurus know what they are doing. Perhaps the imminent arrival of Guitar Rig 2 forced IK's hand.

Is it possible to buy just the software of AT2?
