You tried to access the address ftp://anonymous%40onlydover.org@onlydover.org/DubsackST, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
Make sure your Internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working.
Check that the setup of any Internet security software is correct and does not interfere with ordinary Web browsing.
If you are behind a firewall on a Local Area Network and think this may be causing problems, talk to your systems administrator.
Try pressing the F12 key on your keyboard and disabling proxy servers, unless you know that you are required to use a proxy to connect to the Internet. Reload the page.
Why do you use an ftp address? If it's in your space couldn't you re-address it as http?
Hang on, I'll try...

Post

No, I tried a few different combinations but none work.

If I load something into my space, the address becomes http://www.glassback.com/appropriate-fo ... ensiontype... have you tried doing it this way? :)

Post

I tried putting them in the http area, but then i couldn't even access themm... hmmm. the problem was with the filename though... i fixed it, i 'l repair the links here...

oh, and i use ftp because to me it's convienient, as are other ftp sites made open to the public... i'd rather deal with a list of files than a bunch of flashing bs. anyway, i'll figure this crap out... but it cuts so hard into my dev time... so does worrying about it.. meh. i think i may have bought the wrong package though....

Post

OK fair enough, but isn't the ftp folder just what you use to upload to your space?
You don't need pages displaying and even if you did, they'd only be flashing bs if you told them to be. :)
I can link to files within my space without having them show on a page, it's just an address thing.

I upload via ftp, but once there in my space, doesn't it becomes an http address? What package have you got?
Ultimately sorting it out will save you time as people won't be moaning about your protocols and inability to access your files via the method that you're currently employing.

Just tryina help.

Mick is right. If the files are uploaded to a web accessible directory then you don't need to use FTP at all. Usually the home directory is where they are uploaded by default (often called home, or public_html, or htdocs, or home_dir).

Once there, then the files become http://-able which is going to be a lot easier for folks to deal with.

Hope this helps. Shoot me a PM if not, and I'll gladly assist :)

heh, heh, I know... i've been trying to figure it out for weeks, I think i actually got an ftp package though...

Post

Can you upload one of those last 2 files to the same place that you've got your home page file - one called: index.html.

That way we can see if the file becomes accessible to http :)
