Just got a nice bonus from Virsyn (being a Tera3 owner). Tera 3 now has a mini-me :)

Looks great for people who dont need the full Tera experience.

Hmm-$89? Looks like the same one they gave away about a year ago with a couple of magazines. :?

Erm, nope that was one part of Tera (i.e. just the micro_tera engine). This has all of Tera 3's engines, just not control of every nut and bolt of the sound.

That looks very different from MicroTera, yeah. It's like a synth without knobs, just presets and vector controls.

Ah, so more like Reaktor Sessions compared to the full deal Reaktor?

In that case, it might be worth a look see. I was hoping that my first post was wrong when I wrote it, but the thought of it being the magazine synth did cross my mind. Also glad to see that it is downloadable purchase for quick delivery. My gear lust is grateful! :hihi:

As others have noted, MicroTera (Magazineware) was a different beast - it was an additive synth (the additive component of Tera2).

This looks VERY promising... I have so much "stuff" that I never got to buying Tera (because it probably would have replaced most of the non-sample "stuff"). I know a number of people have asked for "a little less" than the full-blown Tera offers (take out the multi-timbral, smaller GUI, etc).

Edit: just ordered.

Hey,

Been trying the demo...is there any edit page i´m missing?? Seems a bit too untweakable to me...are this 4 controlers fixed for every preset, no way of changing it?

Cheers

as a Tera 3 owner will I be getting an e-mail?

or ???

one of the nicer thing sabout micro-Tera (an dthis isn't that) was that it was relatively easy to program and failrtlt full-featured. This may be all that and more, if I understand the concept correctly.

I think so - I received my one some minutes ago.

I hope the offer is still made when my Tera 3 gets to me!

What this reminds me of is the Player version of Ohm Force's Symptohm:Melohman.

The original synth in Keyboard (German) was one of the templates in TERA 2, "microTERA"

For the record, microTERA isn't based on the additive component of TERA, but on the waveshaping component (although there's an additive-style interface for defining different waveshaping functions).

Yeah, that's a good comparison. That kind of packaging doesn't appeal to me personally -- the more access I have to the synthesis engine, the better -- but maybe there's market for it.

...just found the announcement mail in my inbox and installed miniTERA:

Basically it's a TERA 3 Presetplayer. You can't edit patches, it's just possible to tweak the sound a little using the 8D matrix. But it's possible to load Soundbanks from it's bigger brother (and also to play sounds from T1 and T2)!!
The sounds have to be prepared to use the 8D matrix, since miniTERA offers no possibility to do controller assignments.

It has 3 effect-slots for distortion, delay and a choice of flanger, chorus, phaser. The arpegiator is on board.

Doing a A/B comparison both seem to equal in average CPU consumption.
